Sadly society has become crazy in thinking that high school is like college. Most coaches are trying and succeeding at making a difference in the young mens lives they coach and mentor. Parents and overbearing community membera have entirely too much influence now a days and administrators have no back bone and cave under the pressure of upset parents instead of looking ar what the coach does. Wish we could understand that continuity and consistent role models in these kids lives are more important. I mean look at the success or lack there of for 6A schools dethroning Trinity or StX and not near as much threat to fire coaches whenthey can't beat them. Sad situation when 1/5 of all coaches in our state are losing changing jobs each year. Hurts football in our state if you ask me

Slow down offense has worked to keep the score down the last 3 weeks. Bryan Station only 19 points Henry Clay 14 points and Scott Co. 14 points. They have a good defense and limiting possession by opponent is helping his cause. No Guy appeared to be a big factor.

I would say Davis will play, he is a competitor, if he is well enough he will be on the field. He is a difference maker for Station. I will say that Scott Co. Wins but by how much will be the question? Davis in or out will determine the number. On a side note it is ironic that both QB's are named Davis.

If this is true then the Head coach is not doing his job in my opinion. There is NO reason not to make this important in your program. Find someone to film, anyone, and take the time to show it to the kids and help them learn. If you make it important to them, they will make the program important in their priorities. I just feel that if this is not being done there is a disconnect and if your program is not very successful maybe look at what your doing to develop your younger kids.

Carroll is 3-4 with 3 wins vs. class A schools. Owen is 2-4. A win vs. Rowan Co. who is 4A and has a record of 3-4. Now 3 losses vs. 2A Lloyd and 4A Harrison who has 2 wins and a loss in their last game against class A Louisville Holy Cross who had 1 win going into that game. I know winning is a big deal but they should in my opinion have at least 4 if not 5 wins. Now they are not getting blown out and that is a huge plus but I was told they have like 22 seniors so upon further investigation, on their roster like 10 juniors and 9 sophomores. They appear to have a large freshman group so maybe some wins this year will help bring more kids out. But if not this could be the only shot they have for a couple of years.

Deer Hunter is not a Cov. Cath fan, he is Grant all the way. Look at his post, he clearly has been following Grant and trying to save face. Sad that he thinks Grant is weak considering he is a fan of theirs. To the game, Cov Cath will win and should win by a good amount. I think that the tough schedule will serve them better than the weak one for Grant.

SO you are saying your team is weak? I think if you know football. The teams they have been beat by would meet 80% or more of NKY. I think Cov. Cath with first year HC that has played the schedule they have played will be ready to roll through the district.

Grant's weak schedule will catch up to them this week. I say the brutal schedule of Cov. Cath. makes them take out their frustrations on the braves. But the Braves have had 2 weeks to prepare. I am saying 34-14 Cov. Cath.

Hope he is okay. I really like his game and think he is very vital to the success of their team.

Coach, SO blessed that you got to go home and to be with your dad at the end. Big loss for all of KY football and all I can say is I am glad you and your family were there to cherish the last bit of life of such a strong man. You are an amazing person and I am so glad that I have got to know you. You are great for our game and for the young men you mentor. God bless you and your family during this difficult time and pray that GOD drapes you and your family with the blessing of comfort and ease through this time. Prayers for all of you.

Pulaski is for real. Riley Hall is best Sr. QB in state. I can't believe he does not have any offers from big schools. He is legit. The can run, throw and the defense is good. AN early loss to Scott Co is no shame. They made it a game to the 4th Q and just ran out of steam. I think it is their Championship to lose. On another note, what is going on at Henry Clay. gave up 626 yards on the ground last week to Lafayette and then blown up by Pulaski this week. How does this happen with all the athletes they have there.

Why was Davis out at QB in the 4th Q. I saw someone else threw a TD in the 4th. Davis is their best athlete, can't imagine him being pulled. Did he get injured. Lafayette has a lot of great athletes.

I would love to see the underdog pull it out BUT they are playing a very weak schedule which could hurt come big boy time. I think they win this week vs. 1A and 1 win Holy Cross and maybe get a win vs. Dixie and Western Hills which would be great. But could end up 4-6. Good luck to Braves. Have a bunch of seniors according to their roster on KHSAA website. Should bode well for them down the stretch.

A little thought, I read that Highlands scored the 28 against Scott Co. Vs their JV. Now Elder is better than any team SK has or will play. I say it ia Ryle or SK from the north but Ryle was tied with highlands last week so who knows. No doubt 1 and 2 are Male and Trinity. Rankings don't matter it will be who is good enough to come from the East and make it a game in December against either one

I think that the GCL could be the best conference in the country top to bottom, not to mention 4 teams in top 100 in the country. Hard to argue. Great job Elder and I think Scott Co will be fine the rest of the year. Was told they are starting 2 freshman and 2 sophomores. Good for their youth and team to see a great team like Elder early in season.

Scott County did things you can't do against good teams. You can't have stupid penalties and turnovers. They shot themselves in the foot when they had an opportunities. Emotions seem to run high and you are always going to be caught if you retaliate. McKee will get them focused on these mistakes I am sure. As far as passing game the sophomore QB came into the game completing 80% of his passes. He did not have a lot of time, sometimes he was hit coming out of fakes and the defense did a great job knocking receivers off their routes and were very physical to the point I personally thought some flags should have been thrown. On the other side defense for Scott Co needs to get better in the passing game. But Elder is good, very balanced, and physical. When come and play good team in GCL, you have to play perfect just to compete. Good early test for Scott Co and great atmosphere to play in.

Remember that the only thing that matters is the Win. Yes Scott County is giving up 21 points per game but they have given up 31 total points by the varsity. They are also scoring through the air and ground. The young QB outran everyone on Highlands defense the other night. He has also thrown for 5 TD's. Guy and Hughes pound you and when they get to the edge the SC running backs are hard to catch. Their defense is fast and fly to the ball. I doubt they have any issues to clean up there. No matter what Trinity and Male are at the top right now and Ryle and SK in the North. Both are talented and can give a lot of people a run for their money. Powell for SK and England for Ryle are extremely good RB. Morgan is probably the best QB in his class in the state of KY. They have also proved they can win the tight ball games early. In the west it is Central Hardin to me. In CKY beside Scott Co., Henry Clay has talent and so does Bryan Station. Their speed can be a problem for a lot of people but still even with the beat down Lafayette took, they are still extremely good. Huge OL and Woods is as crafty as they come. Show down in 2 weeks with Scott Co. should be a great one. 6A is very talented and on any given day any of these teams can win or be beat. Season is going to be fun to watch.
