Prayers for Coach Buchanan's Family

Featured Replies

I just learned that David Buchanan lost his father John late last night. I hated hearing this news. Prayers to you and your family!

Prayers for the Buchanan family. This is a loss to all of KY HS Football, as both of them have a long legacy. God Bless.

I sure hate to hear this. Won't the same without Coach prowling the sidelines.

Prayers with you and your Family Coach.

I hate to hear this news. Prayers to Coach B and his family.

You are in my thoughts Coach.

Prayers from me and my family to you and your family Coach!

I appreciate comments, thoughts & prayers. My dad & I were very close. The last few weeks, I would drive over after getting everything done around 9:30 or 10:00 and we would visit for about 30 minutes. He always had a new story and they were always good. It was good to come home, and the timing was right because I was able to be with my dad here at the end.

And, my dad, true to form, was stubborn and set his own terms til the very end. My 3 kids all got to see him last night. After they had left, just a few minutes more, he left the room also. He got to see who he was waiting on and then went on to be with his Lord & Savior.

Over the last few days, several visitors mentioned that my dad would be reunited with Robert Allen Yankey very soon and how happy that would make the old coach. They were right.

My dad loved telling me the story of one of his Millikin games when they went to play Illinois Wesleyan. Apparently, Millikin was supposed to get destroyed. Instead, my dad and the Millikin Big Blue kicked their tails that day.

My dad said he kept hearing this song all day, the day of the game, and it always made him think of this game. He said this became his favorite song. We had to hear this song a few times this week while we were together during his last moments.

Enjoy this old song, and if you ever hear it again, remember my dad.

Chief, make sure that you and yours - JC, Emma, Trosper and Stephanie - know that we're thinking of you.

My deepest condolences to you and your family Coach.
