I was told there will be athletics after the phase that has stadium, other facilities are built. But not during phase one.

They open enroll their middle schools so I can see them open enrolling the new school so that if they do not offer athletics right away can go to Scott Co in order to play sports

You did not hit a nerve, Just hate to hear people use excuses. Everyone is hoping that Scott County falls or Highlands or whoever wins. Why not say they are doing something right. Maybe we should look at what they are doing and see what we can do to get to their level.

None of these teams could compete with the 9th or 11tgh region and maybe with the 8th region that I have saw this year. All 4 district champs from the 16th would be destroyed by the 4 winners of the 11th. This is a down year for the 16th

Just so you understand that if you live in Boone co, and do not like the way the school system is then move. Also if you had 1 school it would have about 4000 plus students, Scott Co has 2300. They have 3 middle schools and it is my understanding that the new school will have athletics when the phase that includes the facilities is done. I don't know if they have will have open enrollment or not. But I do ask this, do you use the same excuse when Dixie or SK beat you that they have open enrollment and that is why we lose.

first of all the freshman school and high school are attached and not on separate campuses. They built a tech school( ECS) at another campus which is on the same property as where the new school is going. Also with Toyota expanding their line and I hear about 300 plus families will be coming from the plant that shut down up north then yes I would say it will be needed. I will say this, for the first two years of the new school I have been told there will be NO athletics, so, I would assume that both Hicks and McKee will retire when the other school gets athletics. Just my opinion, but they both will be eligible to retire and they have to think this will hurt the athletic programs they have built there.

It Happened tonight, Scott Co lost to Henry Clay 70-62.

I will say that a very popular combine I sent my son to for 3 years he achieved awards and did well. It did not help any in his recruiting. But after he had been out of school for a year he received an email stating they had selecting him for an ultimate combine. Then after two years out he was selected by same combine as an all-star for their big all-star game. I am sure this was due to still being in their data base and them just sending it to everyone just to get the money and such out of parents who want to say their kid was selected for this. I don't think too many kids are given scholarships because of these combines. The ones that are touted at these camps are already on someone's list. I agree with Coach J, get the kids to 1 days and around the coaches that actually offer scholarships

I agree Marty is the right man for the job but he won a 2A state championship with a 4 or 5A size school I believe. They fell into that class at the beginning of the merger so I am not sure on the specifics. But Marty is a quality proven coach.

Morgan will be at the Top, I would be willing to bet on it.

Not with the PH mafia there. No way a coach can come in and do it their way. Hated to see Wirth out there. He is a god coach and had done some good things. Maybe Lou Holtz will leave ESPN and come coach.

Actually watched the game on ESPN3 and great game by both. I thought that team KY represented well. That is 3 straight wins over TN. Great job. BTW they ran three different offenses. Wing T, Spread, and Wishbone. What a spectrum of schemes and all executed well. Nice speed on the field for TEAM KY. I will say to the NKY people, I agree that there is good football there and I know for a fact that years past NKY has had players on the team. I do know that the process involves the coaches of your high school team doing their part, same with the coaches All-state team and the KFCA district POY awards. I just don't understand why more coaches wouldn't see this as part of their job, but same as recruiting I guess they ALL DON'T do it. Great job by the coaches and players of KY. Good win.

I will agree with you on the word guilty may be a little extreme. But I do believe what I said is correct about our culture of today.

Just curious how this is a warped perspective. I mean he went to Scott Co and did not do it properly and was ruled ineligible. Now if this was a living situation or whatever, it is not like the coaches involved don't know the rules. You have to make sure it is all legit as an AD and coach. So they broke rules now they get to go back and act like they did nothing wrong and get rewarded by getting to play for the original team he left. I am sure the kid is a great kid and the parents were trying to do what they thought was best. But now a days kids think they can do whatever they want with no fall back or discipline. If this was Trinity or Lex Cath. they would have been blasted and called cheaters, etc. I am glad the kid gets to play because it sounds like he is a good kid, but our rules seem to be made for every loophole possible. More and more now a days it seems this way.

Scott Co. has no new coaches that I saw against Lafayette the other night. Same coaches they have had for years.

I will say this as props to them, the Shining Stars program in NKY and Ohio does a very good job starting at a young age and in both boys and girls

Who cares what their age is. They are making an impact on JV and varsity now as freshman. They are all good ball players. In the 9th all of these guys mentioned are good. Big Jake must have worked hard on his footwork, have not saw him since AAU and thought the one thing he needed was footwork. Good to see he has. Gunnar Gilas from Anderson Co. is a very god freshman 6'5 with moves in the post and ball handling of a point guard. Gage from Greenup is good and so is Robinson from Boyd in the 16th. A lot of talent in the 11th as well. Cooper Robb at Scott Co is starting JV and getting a lot of minutes in varsity since Jenkins was ruled ineligible. Dunbar has some god freshman as well as Tate Creek. Scott Co also has a Josh Davis that played in the 9th in middle school. The kid from Hoptown is legit. Scott high and the Nelson kid is good as well. This class is full of talent and potential

I am not knocking O'Hara, he is god athlete that runs well and uses his skills to help him but Morgan is a great drop back passer and will be able to make the reads necessary to help Ryle win. He has 2 years varsity starting experience and O'Hara struggled in the games I saw last year at the varsity level as a throwing QB. He is athletic and if he does not win the starting job, he could be a great WR to compliment England at RB.

Morgan is far better for what they are wanting to do. I think he will be the starter.

No one just glad some people recognize that you can play other sports and be a great basketball player too. The Reese kid is a great player, love watching him on the field and on the court. True leader.
