BCS Poll for week of 2/9/15
citycat replied to LCDAWGS19's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Thanks for making this poll. Great work. I always feel this is the most accurate of all Again, thanks -
Is it common to have only one punter and one kicker? Who are the backups if one is injured?

Bad Teams? Prior to Louisville Western the KHSAA website lists they played Hopkinsville/Madison Central/Henry Clay/Doss/Central. Those are not bad teams. Or if you are looking ahead they play Etown/Lafayette/Owensboro/Newport Central Catholic/Henderson County and those are not bad teams either.

Lexington Catholic 67 Dunbar 59

Would be a huge advantage for LexCath if they get overall #1 and get Creek. Having Dunbar, LCA and Lafayette on the other side would be big advantage. -
Lexington Catholic 67 Dunbar 59

Prolly the toughest district in the state as a good team will be left out and not make the regional. Are the rest of the seeds set in that district? Will they play it at Dunbar? -
7th Region PPG Leaders - Top 25(1-31-15)

He doesnt help himself much by shooting 44 for 102 (43.1%) from the free throw line. -
Boyd County and Rowan County would have to rank one two and I way its a tossup between Elliott and Morgan Counties for the next spot. Boyd County has the longest dry spell having not been to the state since they won regional titles in 98,99 and 2000

Kinda on this thread of undefeated teams,,,,I believe the last undefeated team was Brewers in 1948. I think that is in Marshall County. Can anyone give me a brief history lesson on Brewers? I kinda looked around and saw there were a powerhouse in the 40's. I assume they consolidated with other small schools to make the current Marshall County High?....any info would be appreciated.

I think we had discussed this in a previous thread but I think it was overwhelming agreed that Louisville Trinity plays the most difficult schedule. Knott County Central CovCath Sierra Canyon, CA (#15 in the nation at the time) Oak Ridge, FL (#19 in the nation at the time) Monteverde (#1 in the nation at the time) Weselyn Christian, NC (#3 in the nation at the time) Oldham County Lexington Christian Henderson County (twice) Boyle County St. Xavier (twice) Louisville Central (twice) Louisville Doss Lexington Henry Clay Hopkinsville Elizabethtown Lexington Lafayette Owensboro Newport Central Catholic Say what you want about em,,,,,but they play anyone, anywhere.

LC had so much promise and an excellent chance to make the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history but something is definitely amiss in Louisa. -
Trinity 52 St. Xavier 40 (LIT)
citycat replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
If you had the opportunity to go to the LIT this afternoon/evening you could have seen Sutton, Perry, and Spalding all play. I will keep this simple,,,,when you left there should be no doubt in your mind who the best player is. -
article Inside the 15th Region (1-11-15)
citycat replied to 15th Region's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I am very worried for LC. I do not know any of the details but a team losing their leading scorer from a promising young team is a bit of a red flag for me. Its a shame since I think they were on the verge of making the Sweet 16 this yr or next year for the first time in school history. -
I could not agree more. The fact is that the kid NEVER had any intention of going to UK, IMO. As close as he was to Lexington he didnt even "grow up" as a UK fan. He did very much enjoy the perks and being seen at the UK basketball games. Additionally his remarks about not getting Mr. Football were not very gracious or endearing. Do I wish him any bad luck, certainly not but he was never a Wildcat, just soaked up all the attention.

He played UK like a grand piano......hope he enjoyed the free basketball tickets the past two years.

Good win for the Knights. They are a tough out when Griffin scores like that in addition to Johnson -

The 16th is very down this year, might be the weakest I have seen for some time. -
2015 Louisville Invitational Tournament
citycat replied to price499's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I thought those two teams played their game at Freedom Hall, is that the same as Broadbent Arena? -
Intense rival game that will probably be a very close contest. Matt Rose is a heckofa player but doesnt have much support. I think overall LexCath is a more complete team but really lives and dies with Tanner Johnson. The last two games his shots have been off and they have struggled. Griffin needs to get more looks to balance it out some IMO. I will take LexCath in a close one but it really can go either way.

Elijah Sindelar named 2014 Mr. Football
citycat replied to Flyincat's topic in KY Football (High School)
You can still be a successful player and person at a school that doesnt play for national championships. From what I understand the kid is already a winner. -

The Knights have only lost their last two games, to Henderson County and Lafayette unless you are chalking LCA as a loss already? -
