I think Russell lost a good player to Ashland last year and now to Boyd County this year.

Appears that the Lions have picked up another transfer. 27' Caleb Rimmer from Russell. 6'4" 200 lbs PF. They are gonna be loaded.

A good win against a very solid opponent. The one thing that still comes to my mind is something that has faded over the last decade with Russell is offensive "crispness". I know that is a very subjective observation but the "old" more dominate teams that Russell put on the field were more clean and crisp and they were more successful. The offense just seems muddled.

Coyotes would be super cool. Not sure I know of another Coyote.

I hope they just go for Carter County High School and not the trend of adding " central" to the name. Will also be interested in the nickname. Wish them all the good luck!

Its in the northeastern part of the state. Both Raceland and Russell are "independent" school districts in Greenup County. Raceland is 1A, Russell is 3A and Greenup County is 4A. I would guess the distance between Russell and Raceland is 2-3 miles, very close. Just south of Greenup County is Boyd County (4A) which contains Ashland Blazer High School (4A). Those five schools located within miles of each other form a very competitive group of schools and rivalries.

Still not used to seeing Raceland or Ironton or Boyd County on the schedule anymore.

Just a little OT but when will the Carter County schools consolidation take place?

Lots of D1 committs but none to UK is interesting. Just not the level for UK ?

It's still disappointing to not see Russell on the schedule.

Could have been an all time Kentucky legend. Instead he will be remembered as a good player. I feel a little betrayed in that he definitely leaned into the "front of the jersey" player. Down the road his dad will be more remembered. He at least won something.

I agree that you have to be able to defend but Knox/Richmond are projects offensively at the SEC level. I too would like to get Noah but I think UK might have their eyes on McNeely who is prolly the best choice of all.

Gotta be tough on a school with such a rich football tradition.
