Good Game. Congrats to GC on the hard fought W!!!!

Greenup throws a TD pass is the left corner of the end zone for the win after Russell's first possession was a blocked FG attempt.

Tough loss for the Devils, but definitely some positives to take away. Particularly the resolve Russell showed on two separate occasions to get back in the game.

I'm sure for the Russell players and a lot of the fans, this one stings right now. We don't lose to Greenup very often. But they've got to put this one behind them and look ahead.

This was the kind of game where I think Russell really missed Nick Conley. They're RB by committee this year without a clear go-to guy. It would be nice to see someone emerge from the pack and supply the team with the type of reliable, consistent playmaking ability that Nick did.

Greenup's growth under Grizzle has been tremendous. Their ceiling this year is probably about the same as Ashland's, but this team could win at least 8 games. Maybe 9 or 10. I really think they're that good. Good luck to Greenup the rest of the way.

I know it is early, but where is Greenup County in the district race? Do they matchup up at all with either Johnson Central or Ashland?

Ashland maybe, Johnson Central no

That possession for Russell was a hot mess. Brinkman takes a good shot on 1st down and leaves the game with a bad shoulder... no gain on 2nd down... sacked for a big loss on 3rd down... then a blocked FG.

It looked like Greenup went after Russell's freshman CB on the TD pass. Tough spot for that young man to be in.

Who was it for Russell I think that was playing with a torn labrum?

Probably Brinkman.

Congrats to GCHS / Coach Grizzle. Should him and T.J. still have the same, running family wager dating back as far as Maynard coach at GC / Grizzle was QB at Raceland ,,,, then TJ is washing dishes at Thanksgiving dinner, lol

I got the OT pick right, just not the winner. lol

Let's not forget GC lost at home last season to Ashland 42-6. They have improved but so has Ashland.

The blocked punt was crucial and really hurt Russell.

I believe that is the first time ever that Greenup Co. has won at Russell
