My comment about a red flag was not intended to mean that Cal's recruiting is anything but outstanding, its more from a personal perspective of the type of player I would like to see on the team. I do want UK to win all the time but its also fun to have the player that stays and you kinda get attached to them more than the one and done. Maybe Hawkins and Willis can turn into those players for me of they can see the floor.

His game suits Cals style and I think he is prolly not a one and done. While I like to win I do enjoy the players that stick around.

Cats Pause 16th Region Preview
citycat replied to goldenbucs's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Of all the Cats Pause regional reviews I think they got this one the best. Most everything is spot on although I might switch Miller and Callahan. -
I think they really let one get away when they lost Luke Kennard to Duke. Growing up a UK fan from a UK family is a red flag for me, we should have landed him.

UK does have a chance but its not really likely. LSU is 43-3 on night games in Tiger stadium. Cats are still young and I feel they might get a little overwhelmed in Tiger Stadium (its a notch above playing at Florida).

Cats Pause 7th Region Preview
citycat replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Trinity would be the prohibitive favorite IMO. The dogfight for the second best team would come from Manual, Ballard, Eastern and Male in which I think its a tossup. I will give Manual the edge just because of Sutton. Top five players in the region: Spalding Sutton Ramser Perry Moses -

If Grimes is elected it will almost be as embarrassing as when Yarmuth was elected,,,,,almost. -
Should the Pikeville Panthers be ranked #1 in 1A?

Getting back to the original thread question the answer is YES, the Panthers should be number one. Last game of the season against Russell should be an interesting matchup. -
Grimes / McConnell Debate (tonight)
citycat replied to Watusi's topic in Kentucky / National Politics
Interesting to see other peoples perspective. McConnell came across just as he is, did anyone think he was gonna come off as some really upbeat rah rah guy? That is just not him. He was easily more substanstive and knowledgeable than Grimes albeit she is much easier on the eyes. I think she will get killed again with the "more government" theme which is odd in that she says she wont be a rubber stamp for the Democrats. As for coal, does anyone REALLY believe her on that issue, certainly not. -
Cats Pause 11th Region Preview

With Tisdale out for the season I really dont think HC can be ranked number one in the region or him as the best player. You never know how Scott County will mesh but I do now give the slight edge to LexCath. The team that I would not sleep on is LCA, they could easily slip in and win the region now. -
Anyone have any updates on the Fast Lane Classic? Last year they moved to to Lawrence County due to the building issues at Sheldon Clark. Is it going back to SC? Anyone know of teams this year. I know Lexington Catholic will be participating. I think its scheduled for November 29.

16th Region Top 3 teams & players
citycat replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think at this point you have to have Rowan County at the top of the heap. Best player and coach in the region. -
The realignment does look like 3A will be loaded even more. While I think Russell gets in a very favorable district they will be the school that travels the most in the new district, not really any built in rivals.

Does that only leave Stafford and Levitch now? Any ideas who is recruiting them? -

Aside from athletic opportunity, the "life" opportunites of going to NYU and living in New York are endless.

This is really quite an accomplishment for Trinity. Spalding (UofL), Ramser (Bellarmine), Murphy (NYU), Thieneman (to choose between Air Force and Marshall). Still leaves Stafford, Levitch and West who all have good D1/DII offers. I cannot remember a team getting so many kids to the next level to really good schools.

Stoops suspends 4 players for South Carolina game
citycat replied to All State Baseball's topic in College Football
Obviously none of us know exactly what took place and each of the players involvement but if two of the players will be red-shirted how is a one game suspension any penalty at all? -

I am not as familiar with the three other than Drew Barker (aside from seeing Boom play) but I have to say I am very disappointed his actions here. Future QB and team leader just should be more aware than this. I have a feeling these kids will become very familiar with the Commonwealth Stadium stairs over the next week. -

32 and counting for the Storm. Anyone see any wins this year for them?
