  1. I guess thats a backhanded compliment to Raceland, prefer to lose to anyone but Boyd County or Russell. Alot of niceties being exchanged here....LOL....in the end I do think the Tomcats will win this one.
  2. Congrats to the Hornets on winning their first game at their new stadium and turf field. Its awesome to see Salyersville get some really nice facilities. And to win the first game played there is great.:clap::clap:
  3. Looks like one way to get a kid is thru his stomach...... (below article from Courier-Journal) Eastern High School shooting guard Cameron Reed, one of the city's best shooters and wing scorers, announced Saturday morning that he has committed to the University of New Orleans while on a visit there. "It was just the people, the city, the support from everybody that's going to be there," Reed said. "The coaches are great to be around. Basketball is business, and I like that." The 6-foot-5 Reed, who averaged 14.8 points last season and was a second-team All-Seventh Region selection, received his first scholarship offer from New Orleans in late June. The Privateers' coaches, who considered him their top target at his position, continued to follow him last month while he played for the Louisville Magic club. He also had an offer from Austin Peay and recruiting interest from Wright State. Reed was able to play pick-up games during his visit, and the folks in the program were impressed. "They said you don't play selfishly and you take smart shots," Reed said. Another positive aspect of picking New Orleans? The food in the Big Easy. He ate oysters, crawfish, catfish and a couple po' boys during his expense-paid visit. Even the food in the campus cafeteria was excellent. "It was amazing, some of the best food I've ever had," he said
  4. I believe the Golden Eagles will be better than they were last year. I know that Shane Hall is gone but I think all around they will be better and not so dependent to look for Hall so much. I say that Kyle Gullet is the best player in the region and Braxton Blair is a well experienced point guard on the team who has been thru many tough battles over the past seasons. The addition of probably Mason Blair to the starting lineup will be a big scoring lift as the young sophomore can light it up. Truman Salyer also returns who saw alot of PT last season. Until someone beats them (or the new coach and and players at Lawrence County gel) they have to be the favorite in the 15th.
  5. Ronnie Carson was the second leading scorer in the state last season and played at East Jessamine County. Isaiah Johnson played at Madison Central last season and at Harlan as a sophomore DJ Jenkins was the top player at Harrison County last season.
  6. I believe that Luke Johnson has transferred to Lafayette also.
  7. So Jon Hood was wrong? How convenient that Ronnie Carson (East Jessamine), Isaiah Johnson (Madison Central) and DJ Jenkins (Harrison County) all transfer into Scott County. So Hicks says he doesnt even know how this happens? This is crazy.
  8. Only starter loss was Robert Dence (their big) who signed with Transy.
  9. Returns one of the best shooters in the state in Tanner Johnson and solid backcourt ace Jarod Griffin with two other starters. Always a very savy basketball team. The will definitely be in the mix for the regional crown, would not be surprised at all if they would win the region.
  10. Obviously Will Parker is the of the top players in the 7th region and paired with "mini Parker" (junior Alex Cook) will be the duo that leads the team. Backcourt will be an issue but the biggest obstacle is that they are in the 7th region and probably the third best team behind Trinity and Ballard.
  11. Indiana wins 65-63 Indiana MVP: Myles Ervin, Floyd Central Kentucky MVP: Chase Shellman, Louisville DeSales

  14. Prospects beat NKy Bulldogs in overtime. Ramser and Thieneman a little too much to handle for NKy.
  15. If the Prospects get by their first round game they will play the Bulldogs at 8pm. If you wanna see some really solid kids playing this game should be terrific. Great kids and families on both sides. Simmons may be the difference maker in the end of this battle.
  16. Looks like the Bulldogs and the Prospects might be on a collison course in the early in the championship bracket. Would be a very entertaining game.
  17. Louisville Prospects will be playing also: Brent Kidwell (Collins) Jarod Griffin (LexCath) Daniel Ramser (Trinity) Chase Shellman (DeSales) Christian Thieneman (Trinity) Jay Murphy (Trinity) Zack Patterson (Etown) Gabe Bauer (Silver Creek IN)
  18. Hope it doesnt snow again this year. Was all set to go see that one last year and it was cancelled due to bad weather
  19. Not sure why you would post rankings made by a 14 year old boy. Any case its laughable that he has Morton ranked below Perry, Levitch, Stafford, Pepper, and Johnson for starters.
  20. Agreed, but I have seen him three times and he really needs to be coached up on defense.
  21. Looks awesome. It will be nice to have a really nice new stadium in the area
  22. WOW, thanks for the info, I think that is really big news. Bell is a very nice player
  23. Per Saturday's Courier Journal: Bellarmine University has made scholarship offers to three Louisville basketball players — shooting guard Daniel Ramser and forward Christian Thieneman of Trinity High and power forward Will Parker of Male. Bellarmine coach Scott Davenport and his staff have watched all three players this week in the Adidas Invitational in Indianapolis. The 6-foot-4 Ramser and 6-6 Thieneman play for the Louisville Prospects club. The 6-7 Parker, who also received an offer from Kentucky Wesleyan on Friday, plays for The Ville. Ramser said the Bellarmine offer is his first. “I'm really excited about that,” he said. “I've grown up watching them. My family (are) big fans, so I'm really excited about it.” Ramser, who also has been recruited by Centre College and NCAA Division II Maryville University in St. Louis, averaged 6.1 points and 2.8 rebounds in 37 games last season for the state semifinalists. He shot 42.4 percent from the floor, including 37.2 percent on threes (35 of 94), and 81 percent from the free-throw line. He carries a 31 ACT score. “(Coach Scott Davenport) said he likes every area of my game and likes how I come in and affect the game in all areas,” Ramser said. “Defensively, rebounding out of my position, scoring when I need to, passing. And just knowing the game and what will help my team in certain parts of the game.” Ramser, who has taken an unofficial visit to Bellarmine, said he is unsure when he'll make a college decision. But the Knights, the 2011 Division II national champions, made an impression with their offer. “I think it's a great opportunity,” he said. “They've had recent success with Coach Davenport, and it's really been noticed in this city, this state and this area.” He added about his recruitment in general: "I'm very excited about this (offer), and I'll have to take a little time and talk it over with my family. We'll have to see how it goes the rest of this summer, but we really like Bellarmine.” As for Parker, the offers from Bellarmine and Wesleyan are his first. He said the Knights have been recruiting him since his sophomore year. He has never attended a Bellarmine game, but his former Male teammate Josh Stoner plays there. He said Davenport told him that a four-year scholarship to Bellarmine is worth about $180,000. “It feels pretty good (to get the offer),” he said. “… It means a lot.” Parker said he will likely visit Bellarmine, and it's possible he'll visit Kentucky Wesleyan. KWC coach Happy Osborne and all his assistants attended his Thursday morning game with The Ville, although Parker said he hadn't heard much from the Panthers before this week. Thieneman also has offers to play at Air Force and Northern Kentucky. He played in 25 games last season, averaging 4.1 points and 2.9 rebounds
  24. It would have a nice Kentucky flavor at Bellarmine in a couple of years if you had: Bach, Ramser, Parker and Thieneman as starters.
  25. Kinda goes along with what many on this thread have been saying. Probably all of Trinity's starters will have significant offers. I know the thread has gotten a little off topic but you have to think that Trinity will be mentioned nationally. They usually always play a tough in-state schedule and per "KOB" the are opting out of the KOB to play in the City of Palms tournament which is one the the more important national tourneys in December.
