Lasalle has been as impressive and consistent as any team in Ohio. They are just steamrolling their way through the D2 playoffs. They are without a doubt the best rushing team in the state. They consistently go for 300 yds or more per game.

I agree PP about nothing surprising you (or me). I am thinking shootout so it will probably end up 9-6...

HHS wins. The scoreboard operator needs to do a full check up on the scoreboard before next week to make sure it is working properly because it is going to get a lot of use next week! Hope it doesn't blow a fuse.

Also congrats to BG. What that program has accomplished the past 5 years is beyond impressive...

I thought BG was the biggest lock of any team to win a state championship this year in Ky. I thought HHS was probably was the second biggest lock. So BG loses and HHS wins by 3...I guess there is a reason they actually play the game. Congrats to Graves County!

I said the PI calls were questionable IMO, not bad. Actually I thought the second one was pretty bad but I admittedly did not have the best view. I just said I thought HHS was clearly the better team. I said after the first game that if they played again, it would be much closer. I was thinking about 2 TD's better. I just think CCH had to have a few weird things happen to keep it as close as it ended up. The long TD throw and catch was beautiful but the HHS guy had great coverage - just missed the ball. Terrific throw and catch though. I am like most HHS fans I think...just glad HHS survived!!

Ru, the better team clearly won. HHS had multiple turnovers, CCH had none and a couple of what I will call questionable pass interference calls kept TD drives alive late for CCH and kept them in the game. HHS outgained CCH by 150 yards or so I believe. Give CCH A TON of credit though. They kept coming and coming at the end and made every HHS fan and coach and player nervous at the end. Kudos to HHS for grinding out the last drive (eating up about 5-6 minutes of clock) to put the game away. I do wish HHS would have let more clock expire in between plays at the end when the clock was on their side. Also, CCH had to blow two TO's earlier in the second half that were costly in the end...although HHS would have probably scored again instead of taking a knee three times inside the CCH 10 with 1:30 to go. The Hoge run was as good a HS run as I have ever seen...special.

Miami Central beat them 42-14. Miami Central is 10-1. I am not a big national ranking guy but Max preps has them at 39 in the country and ranked 3rd in Florida. They are very good whatever their ranking says. I believe CC has pitched two shutouts in a row now in their playoffs.

In Kentucky, if you do that, you will probably get sanctioned by the KHSAA. Not sure about Louisiana...

So you don't think HHS will be playing on that turf next week against the LC/Boyle winner??

I am so confused with this post. What is your point, that we need fewer divisions? If so, you are preaching to the choir. We need to go back to 4 but that will not happen and has been debated on here forever. If you are saying that HHS has not had a tough SOS, I guess I would ask who is not a strong opponent of the opponents HHS chose to play, not teams they are FORCED to play (Harrison Co. and Holmes)? HHS played Campbell Co (decent, not great 6A school and local), Bryan Station (6A and in final 8 of state), John Hardin (5A and still playing - a bit down this year for them but normally a top 15 team in the state regardless of class), Paducah Tilghman (the only team smaller than HHS on its schedule - 3A- but still playing and won their first two playoff games by a combined 90-14), CovCath, Christopher Columbus (very good Fla school - 8A - largest class - that is 10-1 and still playing), Elder (perennial Cinti power) and Warren Central (5A power that was a little down this year). You don't think that is a strong schedule? We were debating HHS and CCH schedules compared to Johnson Central's schedule. I would argue that every one of the teams HHS chose to play this year (not Holmes and Harrison Co) was better than every team on Johnson Central's schedule - with the possible exception of Belfry, who may be close to a couple of the lower end teams HHS played. If you are comparing HHS's schedule to Trinity or Cincinnati St. X, then I would agree it is not as tough. Trinity and Cincinnati St. X typically play some of the toughest schedules in the US. Are you saying HHS should schedule like those two schools, who have 2 or 3 times as many boys in the school? Again, I guess I am confused.

Some tough news for the HHS football family. Mike Herrman, HHS class of 1981, passed away Friday after a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 52. Mike was a heck of a football player for HHS and was the son of Bill Herrmann, who coached the Birds in the 70's and into the 80's. The Herrmanns are a terrific family and this is tough news. My prayers go out to the entire family.

Really cool. Beau has had an incredible year. I wonder when the last scholarship athlete from Northern Kentucky went to BYU, if ever???

I will let someone from BW answer the Yeagle question. Mueller just chose to retire to spend more time with family. He is in his early 60's. He still is a teacher and AD at HHS.

You are right about the first game - I had forgotten. If I remember correctly, HHS was up 14-0 at half (or something like that) and it could have been 28-0 or 31-0. Coulda, woulda, shoulda...HHS needs to finish drives in this game as CCH will put up a much better effort this time IMO. They were embarrassed last time and I am sure they have been pointing to this game since.

Hey, don't blame us:)!! From what I know about him, Wirth is a class act. I agree that even bringing up him being fired is not right.

If the ball does not get to the goal line, it can be returned just like a punt. If it gets to the goal line, it goes to the 20. I agree the rule is stupid.

I think about 80 or so...but that's like telling a baseball player who went 3-4 with 2 homeruns, "well, if you take away his 2 home runs, how well did he do"...you cannot take them away. That said, overall I thought the HHS D did a good job on him for the most part.

Not really JD. I think a lot of HHS fans were impressed with Ashland and I am sure the coaches and players were too. Remember the posters on here represent a tiny minority of the fans for all the schools.

Closest second round game in 1A was 24 points. Hopefully, they start getting more competitive now...
