  1. Terrible play call IMO...3rd and 1 and you have a wide receiver who has thrown one pass in his pro career throwing a 30 yard pass...and Drew Brees is your QB!!
  2. I saw The Greatest Showman last week and loved it. Some critics love it and some hate it. I was thoroughly entertained. The music is about as good as any movie I have ever seen. I have been listening to the soundtrack since...just many great songs. Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron and Zendaya can all really sing! And the lady who sings "This is me" is really good too...if you like musicals, go see it...
  3. Has there ever been a player in college football history have more success and set more records than JT Barrett who the team's fans were more glad to see leave than OSU fans are to see JT leave?? And I say that as a fan who is glad JT is going. I appreciate JT for all he has done for the school and his huge heart but I do strongly believe he has held OSU back in a few big games. The defense bailed him out last night IMO.
  4. Big Ten was a perfect 7-0 in bowl games this year before Michigan lost...
  5. I just don't get why Hue Jackson does not get more of the blame for what is going on in Cleveland than he does. 1-29?!?! It is not all his fault but it is partially his fault, especially when they have lost numerous close games. When a team loses ALL of its close games, some, if not a lot of that goes on the coach IMO. Mike Brown is so tone deaf that I could see him hiring him but I have to think the vast majority of Bengal fans would not be happy with Hue being the new head coach.
  6. I always liked Dick Enberg...just really good at what he did. I have played golf many times at a course called Stonecreek in Phoenix, AZ. On all of the par 3's they have engraved in the concrete cart paths the names of all the golfers that have had holes in ones on that hole and the date. On #12, one of the names I will always remember is Dick Enberg...not many Dick Enbergs out there so I always assumed it was THE Dick Enberg...
  7. My daughter was a freshman at Butler that year. She was actually at the game since it was in Indy. I told her she did not know how lucky she was that in her freshman year at Butler, that was the year they made it to the finals. I told her Butler would never go to the NC game again...and then they did again her sophomore year...she called me a hater...lol
  8. I go with Lorenzo Charles over Laettner because it was in the NC game and not a regional final. However, NO PLAY IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE HOOPS gave me more joy than the Laettner shot:)! Just have never been a UK fan even though I grew up in NKY and almost all of my friends were big UK fans.
  9. IU just beat ND last week...that is why I did not include them...I do think ND beats IU more often than not if they played 10 times but IU did beat them...
  10. You are right but I think IU might have a few 30 point losses to Big 10 teams too...
  11. Is IU even one of the best 5 teams in the state of Indiana right now?? I don't think so...Indiana St, Ft Wayne, Purdue, Butler, Valpo are probably all better right now...
  12. Another bad thing for the Steelers with this loss is that they will now probably play Jacksonville before the Patriots...I think the Jags can definitely beat the Steelers again...especially if AB is hobbled at all...
  13. I just love Romo. It is hard to believe that he is a "rookie" at announcing. He will continue to get better but what I love about Romo is that he tells me stuff I would not know without him telling me...same with Collinsworth...that is why I like them both so much.
  14. How good is Gronk?!?!?!? That shoe string catch was just ridiculous. As big as he is...to be that agile to make that catch...wow! He is just a freak...
  15. The non-catch by the Steeler at the end shows why Jim Nantz is the worst of the #1 network guys. I was telling my wife for at least a minute that they were looking to see if the ball moved before Nantz figured it out...and that was after Romo finally figured it out (I love Romo but the was way too late on this one too). Al Michaels would have been all over this immediately...much better than Nantz. Nantz is great at announcing golf but not so great when it comes to football IMO.
  16. This is really interesting. He is the only owner the Panthers have ever had. He is being investigated by the NFL. I am SO CURIOUS to see what the deal is??? (1) His controversial comments during the Kaepernick stuff over a month ago? (2) A sexual misconduct kind of thing? In this environment, who knows? (3) Some other kind of business issue? This will be interesting to follow...
  17. Dalton is the definition of AVERAGE NFL QB...nothing special but not terrible...the numbers don't lie...
  18. This lady needs to go to jail for a LONG time. She really is a threat to society as she has no intention of not driving and clearly should never be allowed to. e..... If you are caught driving illegally 4 times, that means you have probably done it 400 times of more. I hope the judge gives her at least 10 years.
  19. This crash and the Marshall football plane crash are the two I remember the most...both just incredibly tragic...
  20. Worst news for the Steelers is how bad the Pats looked against Miami. A healthy Gronk and the Pats RB's against the Steelers LB's (minus Shazier) makes me think the Pats get the win. Should be a good one though...
  21. I also want to give some love to Stockton...one of the most underrated players of all time IMO. There are five major stats in hoops...points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Stockton is the all time leader in two of the five (steals and assists) and he is WAY ahead in both. He is 3,800 assists ahead of #2 and 600 steals ahead of #2 (both Jason Kidd). He also shot 51% from the field for his career (how many guards shoot over 50% for an entire NBA career?), 38% from behind the 3 point line and 83% from the FT line...the guy was just a total stud. Also, he almost never missed a game...he missed 4 games one year early in his career and 16 to start one other season due to a strained MCL. Besides that he never missed another game...in 17 of his 19 seasons, he played EVERY GAME...pretty amazing stuff...
  22. The year before Bird joined the Celtics, they were 29-53. He was the only major new addition and in his rookie year, the Celtics were 61-21. Tiny and Cornbread were already there the year before. Parish, McHale and DJ did not get there for another year or two. Bird does NOT get too much credit. He simply made everyone around him much better...so did Magic.
