  1. I was just watching TV and a commercial came on that was so annoying I had to change the channel. It was one of those pharmaceutical commercials that just went on and on about possible side effects. How can those commercials be considered effective? So what commercials past or present would you call channel changers that annoyed you so much you couldn't watch?
  2. Share any thoughts. I'm going to say Walter's maliciousness catches up to him. One of his children will be harmed or killed. Another thought is that Walter Jr. will begin using drugs, some type of karma that comes back on Walt. I can also see Jesse killing Walt.
  3. New show on CBS debuting right now. I believe its from Stephen King. Seems pretty intriguing thus far. Think i will keep watching for now.
  4. Anyone else watching this? After one episode I am really looking forward to the next one.
  5. Anyone check out this new show? Warning: It's dark.
  6. The new season starts tomorrow, anyone going to be watching? I've seen the cast and interviews of them, I'm not overly thrilled about em. There's 16 this year, it looks like 2 teams of 8 with a HOH for each one who will nominate 2 houseguest. There's a new challenge called battle of the block, where the 4 nominees go head to head for safety. Then the 2 who lose will be sent to be voted out, which I assume is after a POV. I enter this season cautiously optimistic because it seems like it will be really different, which I like.
  7. I think, as of right now, this is the movie that I'm most excited to come out in 2014. Premiers at the Berlin Film Festival in February, and then is released in theaters in March. Wes Anderson movies scratch me where I itch.
  8. Anyone else like this show? Lewis is a bad word but he makes the show interesting. I hope he gets killed off.
  9. I searched for a thread on this but didn't see anything. Evidently this show was announced back in September. The show centers around the fabled Gotham City & will highlight the character of Jim Gordon, who eventually becomes Police Commissioner/ally of Batman. The series, which will debut Fall 2014, traces Gordon as he becomes who he becomes & as other characters (i.e. Batman, Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, etc.) become who they become. Bruce Wayne will be a central character & it's believed he'll be 12 or 13-years-old when the show starts. The series finale will have Wayne officially becoming Batman. Gotham is described as an "operatic soap with a larger than life quality." It hopes to have the same feel as Christopher Nolan's recent Batman trilogy. 10. I just actually sat down and watched the two very similar, yet different trailers for the upcoming Superman movie: "Man Of Steel". Doesn't tell us too much about the movies, and apart from the cast announcements, and the fact that Christopher Nolan is attached as producer, I haven't heard much talk at all. As a kid I was a geek for old-school comic book characters - particularly Batman, Superman and the X-Men, and I can't help but get excited a little (or a lot) by new movies being made about them. Anybody heard anything further about this one though? Comes out June '13.
  11. Total Films Rates these as the 10 best movie twists. 10. Citizen Cane (1941) 9. Planet of the Apes (1968) 8. Soylent Green (1973) 7. Fight Club (1999) 6. Saw (2004) 5. Empire Strikes Back (1980) 4. Psyco (1960) 3. Se7en (1995) 2. The 6th Sense 1. The Usual Suspects IMO Soylent Green is a horrible movie, but all of the rest are great movies. Maybe it's just me, but I don't remember walking away shocked at the end of Empire Strikes Back. A couple of movies that I liked that had a twist ending were Presumed Inocent, Primal Fear, and Secret Window. Any others out there??
  12. What would you say is the best movie that had a star athlete as one of the main characters?
  13. Lex 18 News Investigates: Speeding Police Vehicles | LEX18.com Nice to see the Fayette Co leaders step up and face the music head on. Disappointing that some officers would be jerks about it. Accept responsibility for the simple wrongdoing and move on.
  14. [video=youtube;cX-vZysWRVw]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cX-vZysWRVw As a HUGE fan of West Wing (but not their politics :lol2:) I have high hopes for this new series.
  15. Anyone watching? Girlfriend is working late and I don't feel like watching a movie, so I might for a little while. We'll see how long I last. Drake is hosting.
  16. Here we go. Tried to do some variety. 1. "Demented and sad, but social." 2. "Back and to the left." "Back and to the left." 3. "They've done studies, you know. Sixty percent of the time, it works every time." 4. "Maybe you're the plucky comic relief." 5. "I'm hungry. Let's get a taco." 6. "I will make popcorn with whom ever I want to." 7. "Sorry, guys. I gotta see about a girl." 8. "The shoes, right? The shoes are tragic." 9. "There has to be a mathematical explanation for how bad your tie is." 10"Let me have a Three Musketeers, and a ball point pen, and one of those combs there, a pint of Old Harper, a couple of flash light batteries and some beef jerky.

  19. What are some of your favorite scenes from a movie? I'll give you to from Good Will Hunting: The scene where Matt Damon just crushes the Harvard grad student in history at the bar and then later asks him "How about them apples?" Also, when Robin Williams gives his lil speech to Matt Damon on the park bench. Any movie...give your favorite scenes.
  20. Anyone willing to confess to watching it tonight? Lol
  21. Sons of Anarchy Season 7 Release Date, Plot Spoilers: New Series Premiere Set for September 2014 : TV : breathecast A little over 3 months to go...info from filming starting to come out
  22. I enjoyed the top 5 movie thread so I figured we could try this one out. I don't mean most rewatchable or what shows you would watch if you could only watch 3 shows the rest of your life. I mean what is the 3 shows you enjoyed the most and ones you would recommend to someone if they asked you for a suggestion. I'm talking writing/directing/acting/basically everything that goes into making a great show. In no particular order I would go: LOST Breaking Bad The Office The Wire will probably be in there when I finish it. Coming in just outside the top 3 would be Southpark, Friday Night Lights, Dexter (Seasons 5-6 really screwed this one up), Community, some others I can't remember off the top of my head.
  23. What are your top 5 movies of all time? Mine are: 1. Menace II Society 2. The Goonies 3. Friday 4. Back II the Future 5. Boyz N the Hood Note: Boyz N the Hood would be higher(probably #2)but the stupidity of Ricky's death makes me boiling mad to this day. Utter stupidity.
  24. BGP Nation what do say is the best single episode to end a TV series? How about the worst? No season ending episodes of a series that continued the next season...only series enders up for discussion.
