  1. The other thing about this one is that it was done in daylight and in front of a lot of people (witnesses). I would find it hard to believe that the police shot him if the guy was not going for the gun.
  2. Pretty easy decision. It is much easier to replace Murray than Bryant. I am not saying that Randle is better than or as good as Murray but he did average about 1 yard more per carry than Murray last year. Dez is just a rare combination of speed, size, strength and is just a great football player. I love his passion on the field...don't want to follow him around after the game is over though. But I could say that about a lot of players in the NFL right now.
  3. I hate to take the bait but here goes. NKU is having its share of issues right now at its highest levels. Everyone agrees on that. How it will end up is still anyone's guess. However, are you really so delusional to think NKU decided to go to D-I (its entire athletic department, not just men's hoops) because they were "running from us and Coach Davenport"? We get it...you have made it clear that you hate NKU. Thankfully, I know a few other Bellarmine grads that have a lot more class than you.
  4. Sorry to hear this...very popular player in his day and after. On a side note, am I the only one not used to hearing "black latino"? I thought it was just latino...
  5. No problem with what you are saying. There are still over 20 games left to play so we need to see how it plays out. The NBA season is soooooo loooooong now, I can see why some teams don't really get serious until after Christmas anyway. Again, I hate comparing great players because it sounds like you don't like Lebron or I don't like Westbrook (neither is true, we both love them both). I do stand by my earlier comment regarding how LBJ, like MJ, is held to a higher standard when it comes to the MVP ballot though. Jordan should have won more and LBJ probably should win more too.
  6. Cannot imagine plunking down money to see 14 seconds worth of action. Have never done PPV in my life and have no plans to ever.
  7. How was Belize??? I have heard good things about it and may consider going sometime...
  8. I mentioned Australia before. Have also been to Cozumel, Nassau, and Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto. I was supposed to go to Cancun for my honeymoon in 1988 but Hurricane Gilbert destroyed it two days before I got married...did not go there! Really want to go to England/Ireland on a golf trip...bucket list item it to play St. Andrews...
  9. We can agree to disagree then. I looked up all 4 of their numbers - very similar quite frankly with the exception of Curry averaging a few points less than the other 3. What separates LBJ from the other 3 is the defensive end. He has been 1st or 2nd team all NBA defense the last 6 years. He can lock up the other team's PG, shooting guard, small forward or power forward when needed in the 4th Q to win a game. None of the other 3 can come close to LBJ on the defensive end.
  10. You are a real piece of work Papa...but we love you anyway:)
  11. I sure wish more college coaches were like this guy. 35 second shot clock is a joke too. If the women can play with a 30 second clock, why can't the guys?
  12. This will give you my expertise regarding MMA NCfan. At dinner last night, on one of the TV's, they were showing the fighters being weighed in. My take...Holly Holm looked very hot.
  13. In 1986 (I think that was the year), a buddy (Yankee fan) and me (Red Sox fan) went to a three game Red Sox-Yankee series in Yankee stadium (Friday night and Saturday and Sunday day games). On Friday night, Bruce Hurst beat the Yankees. We went to batting practice and I was in left field. When Oil Can Boyd caught a fly ball, I yelled to him to throw it to me - he did! So cool. I gave the ball to a little kid near us but he was really cool. On Saturday, Jim Rice (playing left field), chased a foul ball all the way to the stands and fell in. A fan stole his hat and he went into the stands chasing him. It was really neat as the Yankee fans were going nuts about it. On Sunday, in the first inning, Rice came up to bat and the fans were booing him unmercifully because of the incident the day before. I said to my buddy how cool it would be if he hit a home run to shut them up. Next pitch...he did! It took him about 20 minutes to round the bases - he was just soaking it all in. Easily the best "at the park" baseball experience of my life. Well check that...I was at game 6 when the Reds clinched the National League pennant in 1990 against the Pirates...that was really good too.
  14. It is just amazing to me that so many Jewish people are (and vote) liberal. Many, not all but many, political liberals in this country have flat out turned their backs on Jewish people and Obama has almost single handedly ruined our relationship with Israel. He is basically openly hostile to Israel, to the point that their leader has to come to the US to do an end around to Congress to try to stop the US from entering into a horrible deal with Iran. Basically Obama would rather talk to our most hated enemy (Iran) than one of our closest allies (Israel). I feel like I am living in bizarro world on this one...
  15. Going with quantity at QB and hope one of them sticks. They probably feel Hoyer will most likely leave and they need more than Johnny especially since Johnny is a mess.
  16. Quite a story. I saw him speak at an event a few years back. People were almost crying they were laughing so loud with his stories about the Reds, Marge Schott, Shottzie, etc... Hard to not really like Casey...
  17. All good points. I just think people look for reasons to not give LBJ the MVP. He is held to a totally different standard than any other player in the league. I think Westbrook is phenomenal and he is on an incredible streak right now - he may have been the best player on the planet the past two weeks. LBJ has been the past 7-10 years (some debate with Kobe a few of those years when Kobe was still in his prime).
  18. Easy big fella...I LOVE Russ...love him. However, he is not LBJ. Lebron is the best player in the league...period. What separates LBJ from the others is his defense. Let's say Cleveland plays OKC in the finals. Probably won't happen but let's say it did. In the 4th quarter of a close game, if Durant was going off, Lebron would guard him and pretty much neutralize him. If Russ was going off, he would guard him and do the same thing. How many other guys could guard Russ AND KD?? I think it is criminal that LBJ is hardly being mentioned as the MVP this year. Why? It is like when Jordan played. Both are held to a completely different standard in the MVP race...people get bored giving it to the same guy every year so they make up reasons to give it to other guys. Harden, Steph, Russ...all great players...but not in LBJ's class.
  19. As screwed up as the USA is (and it is), I thank God every day that I was born here and not in Russia, the Ukraine, or any of the Middle Eastern countries...or pretty much any other country in the world.
