My prediction: Nate McGovney will not be back and Brossart wins in a higher scoring affair. 72-51. If Nate would get cleared it would be for minimal minutes only and he would not be that much of a factor in his first game back. If he was already cleared as earlier hoped, I thought he would have tested himself in the Mason game? Can't wait to see him back in action. I may make a visit to Campbell County to take this one in.

From your other post, it appears Holy Cross only loses on the road. I'm going with the home town boys in this one. HC 68-59

Great tournament for the young kids. Gives them a chance to play In front of good crowds. Good luck to all teams. I look forward to watching some games and see what is in the future for northern Kentucky hoops.

Good win for the Camels. Nice to see one of the young ones step up and take some pressure off of Holbrook. Since McGovney is out until at least Febuary they will need some of the other youngsters to do the same.

I would agree. It Always seemed to be that if a kid was serious about football and attended St. Joes he would typically choose NCC over Brossart. These kids seem like a huge loss for NCC if they are in fact athletes. If they are students going for academics, I believe Cov Cath and Brossart have higher average ACT scores. (as does Highlands) They should look into St Henry too, I think their scores were higher than Cov Caths for the first time this year. That is, if they don't play football.

I too will have to miss this one due to Christmas party. I like the chances of Holy Cross competing if Campbell plays well. He needs to stay out of foul trouble and this will show us just how good Holy Cross is. Big test for the Indians and a big test to see how McDonald and Schulte do against one of the best defenders in the 9th. I still think HC better than the 3-3 record shows. Tough place to play up on the hill. I'll have to say NCC by 5.

Wow! The Brossart Mustangs are very impressive. Saunders Dominated the first half. Great moves to the bucket. Went down in the third or could have had 30. Trentman had to have at least a dozen boards to go along with his 16 points and I counted 5 blocked shots and numerous tips or altered shots. He is a VERY athletic player. The team plays well together. Their guards get after you. I would have liked to have seen more of Burns who got into foul trouble. Highlands is a very good team and no way I would have guessed that they were to be blown out of this game. Whitte missed some shots early and never got into a flow. Turner plays with some energy and Flynn used at least 11 players tonight. He couldn't find any answer for the Mustangs. Even though it was a blow out, I'm glad I got to see these 2 teams play. Lots of intensity on the court tonight.

I may make it over to this one tonight. I've heard Saunders is playing well and been wanting to see how that Jr. class is looking for Brossart. Always tough to watch Highlands their first few games, but it sounds as if the footballers are already looking like hoopsters. I'm calling the game a pick!

I expected Campbell to break out but he was ridiculous last night. I think Scott is a better team than they showed last night. Everything was clicking for the Cross last night. Tony will be in the hunt for POY and if HC can play that well the rest of the year they will turn some heads.

Hand checking is not playing rough. They call the touch fouls but when someone gets hammered or pushed that is where the rough play starts. That is often overlooked. Nice win for Dixie and a nice showing for the Bluebirds. The 9th is WIDE open!

Campbell will prove he is the difference maker. Holy Cross in a close one. Coach Carr had better had the heaters turned up at practice this week. That gym should to be packed and hot!

You have me on that one almighty Clyde. I don't care what the primary and secondary areas of coverage are. I was referencing being in the proper position to see the call you make no matter what coverage zone you are in.

I've seen enough games and played in enough games to know when an official is not in position to make the correct call. And I have verified the call by watching game films afterwards.

I've worn a stripped shirt in my life a very few times and at a very low level. I have seen a lot of games where an official was out of position and called a foul they think happened. When in reality they did not have the proper angle to call it and the ref in proper position did not call it.

It's worse because he was theoretically not in the position to make to call to begin with.

What is worse to me is when the official, not in his territory, makes a bad call.

What I have learned from reading this thread; Walter gave an unbiased opinion (because Holmes was not playing). A healthy McGovney is a 20 point swing against Dixie. Holbrook has 21 points and was off. The refs cost Campbell county 20 points. The refs cost Dixie 20 points . Not sure who were the worst sports of the game. The players for hard fouls, the players for staring at others, the parents for yelling at players. Flops are bad. Afiguy and Walter will not be exchanging Christmas gifts this year. Congrats to Dixie on the win. Good luck to both teams. I hope they meet at the end of the season with everybody healthy, the best refs calling a perfect game and with the players and fans in perfect harmony .
