Wow, that's a lot of kids from one class headed to Park Hills! I guess St. Joe's isn't feeling the love from the school they are supposed to be feeding?!

What kind of numbers are in that 8th grade class? How many are headed to Brossart? St. Mary's is a very small boys class too. Typically every year St. Joes sends kids to several schools. Brossart, NCC, Highlands, Cov Cath, ND, Campbell County and X on occasion. For the most part if they were footballers, they would go to NCC-- seems like that is not the case this coming year?

Did these 11 play for the Brossart MS team?

That is a shocking number. I'm curious as to what their motivation or perceived advantage is.

I hope it is not for Basketball they will be sitting.

It could push them down to 1A. Of course it will depend on what the number of boys are at other schools on the 1A/2A cut line, as well as whether the KHSAA continues with 32 schools in 1A instead of balancing the classes at around 36 each. Either way, neither Brossart nor any other school will be making any class moves until the fall of 2015 since that is when the current alignment expires.

How many total boys are in this class? That seems like an awfully high number. :idunno:

That's a really high number based upon past years. There were a few from St. Joe playing football at Brossart that would likely go to Brossart, a few played at NCC that will go there and I think there were 3 that were on the CovCath football team that may go there. I doubt that any are going to CC to play sports, however. This class seems pretty evenly split between Brossart and NCC but I doubt that it will effect class redistricting. Didn't I see on here somewhere where Brossart's enrollment was actually higher than NCC?

Well, whomever ends up with the Brossart program will need to work with what he has and make the best of it.

If it is the right mix, the results of next year will have a major impact on the future of Mustang football.

 

There is a world of potential in Alexandria, they just need someone to bring it out.....

Per the KHSAA web site Brossart has 200.5 boys (avg 2 yrs grades 9 thru 12) and NCC has 213.5 boys.

With years and years of BB fans crying about St Joes and St Marys kids going to NewCath I wonder how they feel with kids going all the way to CovCath. Going to have another meeting to try to make it a rule where kids go to High School again??

I was thinking the same thing, KJ. I guess it's only a problem when they choose NCC.
