I was told by a brossart familt member that to many people are trying to be part of this. I dont see why anyone other than the Principal and AD would need to interview anyone. He told me old Brossart supporters need to back off. Just passing the word along.

 

I could see that it might look like that? But they have not done well with their coach selection in the past "who ever it was that made the slections". This could be do or die for the Mustang FB progam. I'm not saying they need to hit a home run on it but they need to atleast get a double out of it.

If it is the same parents that tried to push their way with the MS team a few years back then I am sure its true. The tried to ruin that team, and are now working on ruining this one.

This would be true if the AD and Principal were knowledgable about running a football program. But they don't. Football is a whole different animal than soccer, track or basketball. I'm curious as to who is on the committee. What type of football background or experience do the members have? Have any of them ever coached at the high school level? Do any of them have the network capabilities to get the "inside scoop" on applicants? They should include someone who has been there before.

 

My guess is that they gathered a few parents with their own agenda. They will end up with a decent man with a solid reputation but questionable football experience.

 

I predict a swing and miss or at least a foul tip with this hire.

I have heard the ad and principal did form a selection committee to go through the long list of candidates. They used the same process when they hired their girls basketball coach. I'd have to say it worked out pretty good. Hope they get another great coach. Good luck to the mustang footballers

6 pages and going that's a lot of beef for the new coach search, prob the excitement Brossart wants.

A coach has been hired and an announcement will be made early next week.

I had heard that Brossart did form a committee of people outside the Alexandria community and that have football knowledge. Former CovCath coach Lynn Ray being on the committee. If this is true then I am hopeful for a nice hire.

We hope to have a decision and announcement on Wednesday. We had a search committee that met and took the 37 applicants and narrowed it to five for interviews. Those interviews were conducted and the information and recommendation will be presented to the Principal on Monday and then he will actually offer the job on Tuesday. We will announce the committee and the new coach on Wednesday after the team is informed first. There was a solid mix of current head coaches, former head coaches, coordinators from good schools and a great deal of interest in the program and job. The theme among all those apllying was consistent. Brossart has been very successful in athletics there is no reason football can't reach the same levels.
