Lance McAlister liked this one from Trentman and posted it on his blog as well as mentioned it on his radio show. I saw him play at the Finn in the Holy Cross frosh tourney. He never dunked but was a shot blocking machine even back then. I only saw him play a couple times this year and did not get to witness any live dunks, but there were a bunch of videos out there I saw.

I'd rather take over a good program during an off year. Time to put your philosophies into place while managing expectations. The players will come through eventually.

I'm still shocked to see Goetz leave. Hope they get a good one.

Why are they leaving Walton? For a better education? Are they looking for a ring or are they trying to get away from other issues? If it was the coach, he is gone. I'm not sure why one would want to uproot a kid going into his Sr. year. Can't see a kid wanting to move from the country to the city and leave all of his buddies. How old is the younger brother?

Campbell player of the year and defensive player of the year. Not just about offense. He alters the game in so many ways. he deserved it over Bolden. Hatton over Ruthsatz IMO. I think Ruthsatz had a lot more to work with this year than Hatton did. Both know the game so very well. This one was a harder choice for me.

Just don't see this happening.

He received his GED sounds like he didn't go to school very much 4 years ago. What possessed him to do this?

Congrats to the NKY boys who were able make this list. Hard to get recognition when you are from NKY it seems like? Last year I think Rice of Holmes was the only local SR. to make the cut and this year Campbell the only local Sr. to get invited? Did any of Jr's from NKY make the short list last year? The 2014 class is loaded! It should make for some good hoops next year. Good luck to the young men, I hope NKY gets some representation in the game!

Cov Cath should win by 10. But Newport has the athletes and if they all decide to turn that motor on for 32 minutes they could pull off the upset.

Nice job on the Highlight film Walter. After watching it, I thought it was a foul shot clinic. I had forgotten how many times Holmes went to the line. I actually went back and looked at the stats and realized they were 19-30. They missed as many as NCC took. Overall the % is not bad but most of those fouls came at the end of the game, Holmes will need to hit those clutch shots in the next 2 games if they want to come out on top. They could have iced it a little earlier. The next two games for Holmes will both be tough. Good luck to the dogs.

I've not Seen Montgomery County play this year, I've had the pleasure of seeing a sound Brossart team play a couple of times. But by reading these posts I'd recommend Brossart not load up the bus, stay at home and get the baseball gloves out. I thought the 9th region had some arrogant fans until I looked into this thread? Usually you at least get the back handed compliment when you get on here, nope, not by these fans. I'll have to root for the HUGE underdogs, whose players are not very good and get off slow shots, to win. I hope someone keeps BGP updated (well for at least the first 2 minutes of the game until Montgomery has is locked up) My guess is by the end of this game there may be a few names that the Montgomery County folks will remember. What's that kids name who wears 33? Good luck to Brossart.

Observations from the game; game was not very pretty. St. Henry missed Noble--hope he is feeling better. St. Henry is scrappy, they are really not that athletic. Cooper did not play up to their potential and will go home after the next game if they don't play better. Both teams play great defense. St. Henry needed to take better care of the ball. 2 great coaches on the sidelines last night. Best wishes to both teams and congratulations on making it to the regional tourney!

Observations from last night 2 of NKY's best went at it last night. Bolden is sick quick! A lot of the missed shots from both teams were near the glass, not a result of the backdrop of the large arena. MacDonald was gassed last night--he needed a break. Played like a champ, but was not able to run that big floor all night without a break. Both benches were great last night--early foul trouble for both teams and the benches held their own. Weyer will be a nice player, I thought he did make a freshman mistake when he came in and immediately shot that 3. that's one where the coach screams NOOOOOO--YES! Heard a lot of NCC fans thinking Brannen is not a good coach because he can't win a game in the region. I guess the 30 win season is just not enough for them? Traffic is horrible. Engleman was beastly on the boards. Holmes was more patient than I would have ever dreamed. Holding the ball and making NCC come out on them to spread the floor and drive was smart. They forced NCC to play their game. Than in the second half they turned up the speed. Great crowd on hand.

MVP of the district tourney and All conference in the last week. I'm thinking folks are starting to recognize him.

Congrats to Brossart on winning the 37th and all of the players on the all tourney team. Pouncey was not in the box score this morning but I saw him play against Campbell County the other night and he is a very nice player. Looks like points do not matter when selecting an all tourney team. Glad to see someone recognizing a total effort. Jackson was also amazing to watch. He and Mcgovney threw their teams on their shoulders in the semis. Sounds like Saunders had a whale of a game last night. I got to see very little of him in the semis the other night as I showed up late for the Brossart game to see the Scott/CC game, but he put on a beautiful move right when I walked in before half. Also got to see the Trentman dunk in that game (and just watched the video of last nights effort) that boy has some hops. One of the most athletic kids in NKY. Lots of upside.

You at least sound reasonable arguing for Hatton. I do love his game. And I do agree some folks just don't care for him. I mentioned how smart he is. He is going D1, great player but not the game changer of Campbell. Not sure who votes for POY but it sounds like they agreed with my thoughts.
