Good win for the dawgs. Nice bounce back after buzzer beater that could have demoralized them.

Proverbial character win!

Thanks for all the updates statman.

Good victory for the Dawgs. Can't wait until saturday.

Congrats, Breds on a great year. This was an unforgettable group who has a lot to be proud of. Congrats to Holmes, good luck the rest of the way.

Super year for a great basketball team even though the Breds are in no mood for congratulations tonight. I really believe these are two of the top 15 teams in the state and one of those "shame someone had to lose" games. Congrats to the Dawgs on advancing. They sure have a tough road to win the region.

Good job Dawgs!!

But they just swerved and avoided an awful big pothole....

Big congrats to the Holmes Bulldogs. Gotta believe Booher was not showing all his cards in the loss. I hope the Bulldogs can represent in Rupp. I will be pulling for Quan and the boys. Don't have a let down and take care of business guys. I really thought the Breds would win this match up initially, but glad I was wrong. Great season for the Breds filled with some great accomplishments. Go Bulldogs!!

Read on Twitter that Mick Cronin was in the house.

That he was. Sounds like the young mister Bolden made it worth the trip...

Key points:

NCC made it through the first half with 2 starters sitting with two fouls and actually had the lead 19-18.

Both teams were stuck the on 40-35 Holmes lead for it seemed like 6 or 7 possessions each. Got the feeling whoever scored next was going to have MO on their side and it was Holmes.

NCC missed a 3 with 27 seconds left that would have cut it to 2. That was huge because Holmes was shooting foul shots with a more than 1 possession lead all thru the 4th quarter. Would have been very interesting to see how that would have played out.

NCC offense was pretty much McDonald and that was it.

Holmes struggled a little once NCC started doubling Bolden out front in the 4th quarter and rushed a couple of shots. However, Holmes was in great rebounding position because NCC was occupied out front and got several second and third chances.

Holmes was sagging off Shulte whenever he was outside and basically stopped guarding him at all in the 4th quarter when out of the lane. Hindsight but NCC might have needed another shooter in there at that time.

Holmes did a good job taking their time after an offensive rebound and making NCC play defense for minutes at a time.

Holmes is clearly the best team up here. New Cath was way way overated. Better team won. Holmes came out of the toughest district in the state. Holmes, Holy Cross and Cov Cath were all better than New Cath. Had they won tonight Cooper would have beaten them, Cov Cath would have beaten them AGAIN. Decent team but about the 5th best in the region.
