Which team returns the most next year?

Big crowd tonight. The upper sections had quite a few patrons. NKU had afternoon classes ending and evening classes starting at or near 6:30. There was also a play on campus tonight. The traffic jam was pretty bad. I spoke to an officer tonight who said the chief of security was called. The campus police went in to all hands on deck mode. They described it as a perfect storm. The start time was pushed back 10 minutes and people were filling in throughout the first half.

Holmes got key rebounds throughout the game against NewCath's big men. McDonald played a great game. Bolden was fun to watch. Fast but very much in control. Holmes sagged into the paint and collapsed on McDonald which opened up the perimeter. If NewCath could have connected on a reasonable number of the open 3's they took, the outcome might have been different. I enjoyed watching two great teams tonight.

It didn't seem like Holmes shot over 50%, but you are probablt correct. They'd make the first miss the 2nd except Bolden. They had Coston and Palmer at the line down the stretch, who are good to have there, also. Largest crowd I have seen at BOK. They had to open the upper deck.

That he was. Sounds like the young mister Bolden made it worth the trip...

He was dislocating kids knee caps tonight.. The kid is cat quick with the ball.. Wow!!!

NCC IMO. Of course losing Beuter and Seibert is going to be a challenge.

Holmes loses 3 starters.

Ncc will have a big front line.

Really different from the 1st time. NCC just didn't shoot well. The only thing they had that worked consistently was McDonald. Holmes won this game on the boards. They rebounded much better this time. Both teams had 2 players sit in the first half. Beuter and Coston sat more than 10 minutes and Schulte and Bolden for about 5. Holmes got respectable miutes from Marcus Hill, which they hadn't all year. Englemon cam to play. This game turned early in the 3rd when Holmes went on a mini- 8 point run. NCC cut it to 2 or 4 I can't remember, but just could not make key shots. Neither team shot very well, but both defenses played by both were strong. Holmes shot awful from the line, probably 50% at best. They usually shoot from the line better than that. Good win against a really good team. These teams play 10 times they probably split. I thought the trap in the 4th by NCC really allowed Coston to get free and allowed the offensive rebounds. Two or three times Holmes missed, got the board and used precious minutes in the 4th. Hard to lose this early when you are as good as these two, but you gotta beat them anyway. Congrats on a good season for NCC, athough I am sure they don't feel that way right now.

The powers to be need to let these teams have a shoot around before the tourney starts. Its tough on these kids to go from HS gyms to a huge Center like BOKC and except them to shoot like they do at the smaller HS gyms. Now I am not talking about hours upon hours of PT but each team getting a half of the court for a total of an half an hour with each team shooting 15 minutes on one basket and them trading sides. You could get 8 teams done in two hours!

BTW no way would any of the local HS gyms handle the crowd that was in attendance for the Holmes vs. NCC game on a horrible rainy night. My guess is around 7,000 in attendance tonight!

I agree. He was stupid quick. Mcdonald played a great game for NCC but didnt get the help he needed tonight espcially in the 4th quarter. If your a unemployed or retired doctor you might want to follow Bolden around and take care of the players that try to gaurd this young man. First time I've seen him play I was impressed!

McDonald for NCC played a great game, Bolden fun to watch for Holmes. I thought Weyer came off the bench and added a big spark for NCC and do not know why the coach took him out and did not put him back in again? I wish HS would put in a shot clock, hate watching Holmes stand and dribble the ball at half court for 3 mins several times tonight! There was some nice talent on NCC's team from Ft Thomas kids, I am sure Highlands would have loved to have that talent on their team!

You state that you are one of the "real" basketball fans, you should know this like the back of your hand.

NC got about 50 points from Seibert and Schulte in the 1st matchup.

Tonight? Maybe 10?

The 'dogs just didn't guard either on the perimeter, they didn't make them pay. Schulte got two charges for lowering his shoulder and charging. He's 6'8" go up and shoot the ball.

I agree TOG, great turnout tonight, thinking more like 5500, but no need to split hairs. I will tell you that the traffic situation getting into the BOK center is terrible, a number of folks, including my car full sat in traffic for the better part of an hour, first rate facility, second rate planning / parking.

I thought they both played pretty bad tonight. Schulte needs to get stronger. I think he could dominate if he played harder. He disappears for long periods of time during the game..
