I'm very surprised this was this close. Nothing against PC but after seeing some other scores, I expected CCH to take care of business as well. A win is a win, though. On to the next one for the Colonels.

Have to apologize to the Wildcats faithful for the condition of the gym floor which in the second half resembled an ice rink more than a basketball gym and indeed the gym was a sauna and it reminded me of the days back in the 60's.

 

Players from both teams but especially on the gym floor side nearest the football field were literally skating around the floor, taking baby step as to not fall.

From the updates I was getting at the PC girls game, Cov Cath had a pretty sizable lead (14-16 points) at one point, but PC worked and had it to 2 with 2:33 left. Great effort from the Cats, and yes I do believe they are better than most expected this early in the season.

Why did they even play if it was that dangerous?

CovCath up 45-26 middle of the 3rd when the Dixie Ice bowl opened up on the CovCath end of the floor. Dribble drive became dribble slide. Anyone wanting to turn this into how their teams will fair against CovCath, be my guest.

Usually at CCH and NCC (same gyms) the floor closest to the main entry gets slick.

Yes Clyde that is the case. No one, not even Bill the Producer could remember CovCath's floor ever being slick. The brick wall behind our broadcast had water practically running down the wall. Very strange night in Park Hills. No one ever slipped on the Wildcat end of the floor in the 2nd half.

This is the type of night that the floor gets slick. I saw it years ago at NCC. They cancelled the game after the first play of the 2nd half. Warm air comes in every time they open the door and the cold floor gets slick.

 

Might happen again tomorrow.

In an 8 minute span with 6 minutes to go in the 3rd to 6 minutes to go in the 4th, the Colonels had 5 points. Nick Fredrick hit 4 huge free throws to seal the deal.

They are going to run the air conditioner to try to get the humidity out. Keep your fingers crossed.
