Walton 2nd td was against same 11 that were on the field the first snap of the game. After #44(beechwood)long td run on the next series, Beechwood pulled their starters. Like I said earlier, it doesn't matter, Beechwood is a good 1A football team and heads and shoulders above everyone else in the district!

yeah sweeper....this is a futbal thread, and if you knew anything about futbal you would know that it was jack that kick-started the soccer program at highlands! Not your idol!

Not to take anything away from the king but if one was to nit pick i would have video evidence to say that it was 2 t.d.'s on beechwood first team, and there was only ONE penalty on the so called "only TD drive helped by a couple of key penalties." But, what's that matter? They are head and shoulders above everyone in the district for sure! Congrats to another district sweep! Good luck in the next 6 weeks!

Alot going on out at Walton this week, and looked flat. Hat's off to a stingy, hard fighting Ludlow team that should be very proud for fighting till the bitter end! #3 is a heck of a football player. Don't know what year he is but he's a playmaker! Congrats Walton on making the playoffs for the first time in school history!

Valpo is darn lucky! Good luck to the young man! Look forward to seeing him in the stats catagory next year! Let's get 20n10 first!

Wildcats vs Bearcats next year in Verona is a rumor I heard. Anybody from Henry Co. hear this?

That is surprising....i would've thought somewhere BIG TIME!!! He is as unbelievable a kicker as I've ever seen!!! The ball sounds different when he kicks it

There is one white hat that i've seen twice this year(not the same teams) and if you do the EXACT OPPOSITE of what he did in those two games, you'd be a pretty good official. Guy was a joke! It was "his" game and not the kids. That is just wrong!

Tackling a player from the sideline's is an automatic touchdown. For sure. I believe the two penalties(for being on the field) would've offset but the obvious celebration should've been enforced on the p.a.t. which could've decided the game considering they would be kicking it from the 25 yd line. I could see how it would be hard to call that with all of the confusion but nonetheless would've been the right call, and should've been made. The head of officials i'm sure has graded that one!

Highlands is playing up

When was beechwood NOT this good in district play? I mean in all reality? They've had their hiccups over the years but what era were they not dominating this district? 70's maybe? I don't know, I'm asking.

The funny thing is if it were 77-0 he wouldn't even be able to respond "I told you so" because there would be sooo many replies to how good the birds are! What's wrong in title town? Scared, cat got your tongue? Usually quick to post how this year is the "best ever." Just wondering where you all are on this one?

I have seen that team play on video tape. Vs. Highlands in the state championship! Those people were REAL football players back then! Tough MEN, just like #93

I'm just saying it's tough for kids to keep the intesity level up for one game let alone 4 or 5 in a row. And when you're talking about 1A the talent levels aren't that big of a difference(excluding beechwood). A small let down could turn into trouble for a program that doesn't go out knowing they are going to win. I hope Walton keeps it up and builds winning into their vocabulary, but I can see it being tough for them to keep it up after all of the tough games they've had. If so, they're playoff ready IMO.

Walton has has been on an emotional roller coaster, lose by one, beat bellevue, beechwood, now a come back against brossart for the #2 in the district. I'm calling for an upset in this one. Wasn't close last year but I think this year it's close with the green devils winning 14-13

Smart man right here!! If only the wife could find something to do, I might consider it. HA! Don't forget Saturday night Bishop Brossart vs. Walton Verona at Newport Stadium at 7pm. I think this game is going to have a playoff feel to it since both teams are fighting for the 2nd. place in the district. Walton controls its own destiny but Brossart is MORE than capable of beating them. I think it has the possibility of being the game of the week. And, it would be nice to see a big crowd since I've been to two saturday night games down there and no more than 3 or 400 people went to the two games i attended. Walton has two former Highlands boys coaching so I would assume there will be plenty of other blue and white fans watching since it's alot closer than walton and on saturday night. Good luck to both teams, should be a good one.

I just hope that both teams limit penalties, and mistakes and we get a little peak at the future of these two up and coming programs. Both teams are respectable at each's strong points and it would be nice to see them go at it 110% without mistakes. I think BB kicker could be the difference he can kick, but it also could be a blow out either way, I think that either offense is capable of blowing it wide open. I'd bet that it's gonna come down to defense in the end, one way or another, but i'm not a betting man. I will be there cause what else is there to do early on a saturday night than watch a good HS football game? I'm really looking forward to a good game. Maybe this is the game that stays on both of their schedules, going into 2A.

There was one penaltie on the first TD drive

Gotta start at the gradeschool levels, not middle school, that's where I think Highlands has done the majority of their best work.

County Fair=misery. I'm sure every coach has their version of it. 4 stations. One on each sideline at the 50, one in each endzone. Each station does some type of football drill. i.e. bearcraw, backpeddle, etc. Team is divided up into 4 groups and start at seperate stations. Once each group goes through all 4 stations, round 1 is done. The next round each station does a different drill, once each group goes through all 4 stations round 2 is done. So on, and so on. Now if any one player is not busting it inbetween stations or during stations then coach blows what is called the "blank(bad word ending in T) whistle" then u start from scratch. We did 4 rounds every morning but if we did not bust our buts coach would blow that whistle and we'd end up doing 8. It seemed like he liked to blow it during the last round(4) alot!

I've seen a little of walton tape and they seem to have problems when things are going their way. Offensively they do a good job and should have scored 50+ in the games I watched. They will score against beechwood but they just aren't at Beechwood's level just yet. The athletes are in the school, just not on the football field yet. I say 41-21 Beechie Tech. Next week will be a nice game to goto. Walton Verona vs Bishop Brossart at newport stadium.

Beechwood is a CLASS act all around, which is what Coach Barth is doing with the boys out in Walton Verona. They got a GREAT bunch of kids that are getting better each week, from what I understand, but they aren't gonna get Beechwood this year. I think that WV should keep this game on their schedule even after they move up to 2A. Who in Walton or Verona thinks they keep Beechwood next year?

I don't see how you can blame the seniors and the coaching staff for this one. There is probably 1 team in northern kentucky that can loose 19 seniors and not have a re-building year. I would say that Eckstein wouldn't have retired if those 19 seniors were juniors last year. Think about that. I was at the game last night and also at the scott game and these boys don't have anything to hang their head about. They have alot of fight and they played a pretty good Walton Verona team that has alot of fight in them as well as a really tough offense to get ready for(wing t) Good luck to both of these teams, they're gonna need it against Bishop Brossart, they're sound.
