Why do you think it's a slap in the face? Kickoff return is a part of the football game, and so are onside kicks. Their coach's may have seen a weekness. And it sounds like they were marching up and down the field on thier defense until the 20, so why not try and get it back? JMO but I don't see how you can call it a slap in the face.

Walton Verona 46 Bracken County 0
QuatroCinco replied to The sarge's topic in KY Football (High School)
I heard from one of their coach's that they were going to change their offense from this years offense to last years offense for this week and next. It was explosive last year, and they've been waiting to use it all year! -

In 1989 highlands was down at halftime to scott and Tom Duffy told me that he was scared to death because Bill came in the locker room and went nuts! His son Greg was on that team. He's intense and I would've loved to play with him. Too bad Dave didn't play on a good team or he would've been good. -

Wish I would've seen that! Bill Roller is an animal! A couple of best's I've seen were Chris Gallechio at QB. He ran the option unlike anything I've ever seen. FAST, and a low center of gravity. "Gooch" was one of those players that could be gone every play. And he returned punts and kickoffs. Justin Frisk at RB. I haven't seen anyone even close to him in Northern Kentucky, and that includes my friend Shaun. He was unbelievable and did things that no other high school kid has done around here. If he would've played after halftime, he would've broken all kinds of national and state records! On the O-line, John Schlarman was just an animal. Big, strong, fast and very athletic. Really, really good. There have been some really good ones come through, but those three stand out to me off the top of my head. -

You're right, he's def not right for the job. He's way too good of a man to have to deal with people like you every other day. You all think you know everything! So, please explain to all of us that don't know as much as you, how do you know so much about being an AD, or a coach? Experience in both? Or did you learn it by sitting on your couch reading about it on BGP? Enlighten us please! Thanks. -

Walton Verona/Bracken County Predictions

I can recall Highlands being really good back in the day! And they didn't have good facilities! I don't think the facilities have anything to do with it. Walk into Highlands weight room sometime....nothing special whatsoever. From talking to an ex-HHS grad that is coaching at Walton, he said the field is nice but other than that, they have a long way to go to get the proper facilities. It's all about the type of kids. Has nothing to do with facitlities IMO. I mean, Highlands didn't get better because they got astroturf, did they? -

It's all about the Benjamin's. Don't fool yourselves! That $400 trophy amounts to a whole lot of them. -

Because the public schools have the advantage over the private schools? I did not know that! I wonder what Highlands would do if they were private! Win a national championship perhaps? -
Why would bellevue be ranked over Walton in this litkenhous rankings? Walton has a better record and beat them heads up?

Next time you're in those stands look over them. The stands are sitting on top of piers on the side of a cliff. You would have to have a serious crane to pick up those stands and that crane would demolish the field so you're looking at piering the new site, new field, crane, and all of the workers. That's a bill that even the elite of Ft. Thomas can't pick up. 100years of bussing would'nt cover moving those stands. So, you are all correct, it's not a priority. It's only a dream.

I'm looking more at that Frankfort/Brossart game....do the mustang's pull off the upset? They almost beat them last year if I'm not mistaken? And the games that I saw Brossart play this year, they are much much better than last year. Bearcat fans, would you rather goto Frankfort, or have a re-match against Brossart at home? -

The thing about that Vocke pass is that they could've had every lineman down field because the ball was caught behind the line of scrimmage. There is no penalty for illegal man downfield if that occurs. That 2pt. was bang bang but that ref called it instantly. -

Can anyone post a link to the lone oak game?? I have seen some ref's this year that would've made that call! I wonder what happened to good officials? -
I'm not seeing it from anyone this year! I hope I'm wrong but I haven't seen a single team get better from last year. I haven't seen newport central catholic though! Hope i'm wrong

I saw the play that way as well! I don't know about stuck him but he def hit his shoulder and should be given the credit for stopping the conversion, more so than Towles losing control of it! And everytime I rewind it, I see it that way as well!

So Don, what's with the "haterade" comment then? Why would you post such an ugly word? If it wasn't about the kids, then who or what is "haterade" directed towards? -
I'd be surprised if they are an out!
