Wish I would've seen that! Bill Roller is an animal! A couple of best's I've seen were Chris Gallechio at QB. He ran the option unlike anything I've ever seen. FAST, and a low center of gravity. "Gooch" was one of those players that could be gone every play. And he returned punts and kickoffs. Justin Frisk at RB. I haven't seen anyone even close to him in Northern Kentucky, and that includes my friend Shaun. He was unbelievable and did things that no other high school kid has done around here. If he would've played after halftime, he would've broken all kinds of national and state records! On the O-line, John Schlarman was just an animal. Big, strong, fast and very athletic. Really, really good. There have been some really good ones come through, but those three stand out to me off the top of my head.

I have to agree Chris was incredibly fast. Hoffman was also very good the year they one state was a very good team. They had some very good players on that team.

AC: helped secure a three-peat in 07,08, and 09.

I cant beleive no one mentioned Marty Moore yet. Now he was a beast.

Mister David Fischer one of the best D-Lineman 1982.

Jeff McMahon, NKPOY in 1975, was an unbelievable player and leader. I used him as a "talking point" for years in the FTJFL. Jeff was way down the depth chart as a freshman. He loved the game and his teammates, worked hard and MADE himself into a great player. He was a shining example of why if you believe it, you can be it!

One of the smartest anyway.

Ouch.

I played several years with Roller. One of the meanest linebackers I've ever seen. The other team's running backs absolutely were terrified of running against him. He reminded me of Jack Lambert. Often had the blood over the bridge of the nose. I remember having to turn him around to face the other team on a goalline stand because he hit the running back so hard on the play before, he didn't know where he was. The running back just crumpled and left the game. Roller stayed in. He was tough!

I thought that Bill only played vollyball, and tennis! Realy an example of attitude, and the will to compete, and excel at what you do. A great influnce to all those fortunate to play with him. Typical Cake Eater!!

In 1989 highlands was down at halftime to scott and Tom Duffy told me that he was scared to death because Bill came in the locker room and went nuts! His son Greg was on that team. He's intense and I would've loved to play with him. Too bad Dave didn't play on a good team or he would've been good.

I can remember Dave Roller playing in the FTJFL , he played tight end. He would come up with the best fingertip catches with 2 or 3 defenders hanging all over him. I don't know why he didn't play for the Birds , he would have been awesome.

For the few that know me , I'm not bragging , I'm just sharing fond memories.
