Woodford County 2011/2012
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Johnson's injury may help the YellowJackets. While he is out, the other players are going to have to learn to play without him and assume roles that they may not normally have when he is playing. When he gets back this will make them even more dangerous. Plus with a year of Hundley's system under thier belt, I look for a solid year from Woodford, especially when Johnson gets healthy. -

Cooper / Montgomery County predictions
Touch The Line replied to gchs_uk9's topic in KY Football (High School)
I think this has the makings for a VERY exciting 1st round game. Taking the Indians in this one with thier high-powered offense, 30-24. -
Coach Cal brings in too much money to UK and the program for them to ever get rid of him. As someone else stated, I think he is there until he wants to leave regardless of the number of championships. As long as he continues to bring in these stud players and the revenue that he does, UK has no reason to get rid of him. As a fan I would like to see championships, but sometimes money matters more.

Must have been a heck of a shot! Thats impressive!

Cats' Pause 10th Region Preview
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Greatest thing about the 10th region this year is that this is one year that you can throw out the rankings. I would say that any team in the top 10 has a good chance to win region this year. Feb will bring us some exciting district tournaments and a very interesting regional tournament. I will say that with the regional being held at Montgomery, I like the Indians this year. Going to be a great year of basketball in the bluegrass. -
Cats' Pause 11th Region Preview

That top 10 player list is loaded, most, if not all will go D1. I wonder if Jay Johnson getting hurt this summer changed his ranking????? I remember this summer most rankings had him the top player in the state. -
Lloyd Memorial/Bishop Brossart predictions
Touch The Line replied to DRKARK's topic in KY Football (High School)
Lloyd in a cakewalk (to make you happy). I enjoy reading what the Lloyd faithful have to say, I am a Lloyd faithful. I remember when Lloyd once stood as a powerhouse in football, I remember/know what the tradition was like and what it means. You wouldn't find players/students dwelling on injuries week after week and that is what upsets me is reading week after week about injuries, as another poster stated, everyone has injuries, yes some injuries affect teams more so that others. But Lloyd has had several weeks to adjust with the new line-up. As the title of the thread states, Lloyd/Bishop Brossart predictions, lets make this about who is playing, not about who is not. -
Lloyd Memorial/Bishop Brossart predictions
Touch The Line replied to DRKARK's topic in KY Football (High School)
Im saying that its getting old, move on already and stop using the same excuses. I think by now everyone knows Lloyd has some injuries, doesnt have to be announced before every game and after every game they play. I think that the injuries are continuously mentioned for one reason, if Lloyd wins then they over-achieved, if they lose, then its ok because they were hurt. I just think its being over-used and dwelled upon too much as a crutch for their performances. -

I think its time that some Lloyd fans/players stop using the fact that they are unhealthy, hurt, sick, etc as an excuse. This is the 3-4 week in a row that I have read in the Lloyd posts using injuries and other items as excuses. At some point you got to move on and go with what you got and play that game. -

Montgomery County 2011/2012
Touch The Line replied to threetimelover's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
If Montgomery wants to repeat, thier big name players are going to have to step up and play like big time players. Thought too many times last year, excluding the regional championship game, thier top players, Colliver and Spence, were very hesitant during the season. I think with only one senior though, this could be another long run of championships for the Indians. -
Dont feel bad, Mason County has put thier fair share of lickings on teams in the past in other sports.

George Rogers Clark sweeps Montgomery County
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Volleyball (High School)
I would like to commend Coach Wallace at Montgomery County and the turn-around she has made in that program in just the short while she has been there. The volleyball program at MCHS to say the least, was in shambles, but now she has brought attitude, discipline, and leadership to the program and it shows. In years past Clark has blasted the Indians and after close matches with Clark, she has those girls believing. With MC clinching the 2 seed in the district, Im looking forward to hopefully seeing a Clark/Montgomery District Final. GO TRIBE! -
Paris 2011/2012
Touch The Line replied to threetimelover's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Several comments based on your quote, first, Jacobs is under-rated to some extent, but he is still one of the top players in the 10. At Paris Jacobs does score a lot, however, he does it Kobe style, usually having to shoot it 20 plus times to get his points. At times he shows great ability, but comparing him to Jay Johnson is not the way to go. Jacobs is no comparison to J. Johnson. As far as stating that Jacobs can shoot better than Johnson, I would say that the weakest part of Jacobs game is his perimeter shooting. Watch any team play against him when he is on the perimeter, they sag off, and for a good reason. I would agree that while Zollo and Jacobs were in the game together, Jacobs held his own defensively on first chance opportunities, however, it was the second and third opportunities where Zollo got his against Jacobs. Offensively, Im not sure he did much other than that dunk (which was nice). I think in order to Paris to be successful, the young men in that program are going to have to start believing in the system and what the coaches tell/teach them. They have one of the best, if not the best defender in the region on the first shot in Jacobs, but when they don't get that stop on the first shot, they get easily discouraged. In order to Paris to really be successful, I think that Jacobs will need to be more efficient on offense, scoring more on fewer shots and getting more second chance points. More importantly he is going to need some help scoring on the outside in order to give him room to work down low. Paris is a very different situation from other schools, but they definitely have the talent to compete every year. -
Lloyd/Gallatin County predictions

I just hope that since the Juggs aren't winning, people in the community dont start bashing the coach and trying to run him out like they did with Lucas. -

Montgomery has been putting up big numberson every one they play, if they could stop some one themselves from scoring, they would be a very nice YOUNG team. -
Garrard County 38 Lloyd Memorial 0
Touch The Line replied to JUGGSPORTS's topic in KY Football (High School)
What was the score before Lloyd had to put the 3rd string QB in? Anyone who watched this game, if both teams are full strength what would the outcome have been? -
Amen, I believe it was a very close game with Belfry, correct????????
-
Please clarify???? What is the difference? Sounds like some double standards. If Coach Lucas was still coaching this team and they have double digit turnovers and lose to Owen County, they would call for his head. However, new coaches, same results, and yet its ok? Just confused.

Montgomery County Omar Prewitt
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Omar is already one of the top players in his class in the state and the top player in his region, yet he still has so much more room for growth and improvement. If you look at the young man, he is about 6'4-6'4, 165 if that. When this young man begins to mature and develop, watch out. If this kid gets to 6'5-6'6 190 or so, which is very possible, I think the sky is the limit.
