Pendleton County Senior Guard Bryan Woods Out For the Year

Featured Replies

I found out today that Senior Guard Bryan Woods will miss his whole senior season on the court due to a back injury that he's been battling since June. This is a major blow for Pendleton County. Woods started last year, and played point guard for the second half of the season, to alleviate some pressure off of Mason Monroe. Woods was an above-average shooter and ball-handler, and an outstanding rebounder and defender, especially for his size. I hate to see any kid lose his entire senior season.

I too really hate to hear this. Don't want to see any player, dosn't matter who they play for, be sidlined becasue of a injury.

Hate to hear that one. If you read this son, keep your head up. Bigger fish to fry in the future, heal up.

Exactly. It was a case of he could possibly play, but the future consequences just wouldn't be worth it. Really a shame. But he's a great kid, and I know he'll have a great future beyond high school basketball.

What was the cause of the injury>Is this Phillip Woods grandson?

Don't like hearing this at all. Make sure you get well!

I'm not sure if they know exactly what started the injury, but he hasn't been able to play since June due to it. It's a back injury, that if not careful, could cause paralysis. And no, Phillip's last name was Wood, and this young man's last name is Woods.

This is terrible news for this young man. I wish him the best and I am sure that good things will come his way.

Bummer. It should be the time of his life. Good luck to the wildcats.

Sure hate that for the kid--high school ball is something one always remembers, a great time in one's life.

Back issues are very serious, probably a good decision to not risk quality of life here. Best of luck Brian !

Sorry to hear this about Brian. Pendleton Co. will miss this young man and I would like to wish him the best.

Bad break for both the young man and the team. I think this changes the top 5 region teams order because he was a key component for success there. Good luck to him and I sincerely wish him a speedy recovery.

Hate to hear this, I think the thing that they will miss the most from him is his energy, plays hard!

This is a terrible shame. I wish him the best in anything he decides to do.
