  1. Jason Mays will be the coach, he's everything Montgomery has been looking for since Happy left!
  2. County schools are only as good as the feeder program. Harrison will drop off after next year, the next good group is in 3rd and 4th grade because parents are investing in those kids.
  3. Correct! Justin Becker is what high school should be about! Loyal and dedicated to his community! Not a sell out that you see at some other schools!
  4. Harrison Co. will be hosting the "Huck Turner Classic". 4 Team Tourney Friday Brackets- Bourbon vs. Augusta, 6:30 Harrison vs. Campbell, 8:15 Saturday Consolation 6:30 Championship 8:15
  5. 3 Starters returning: Zack Pulliam, Brock Jenkins, and Jovon Williams.
  6. The finances that school systems have for upkeep, renovation, utilities, uniforms, etc.. is a burden to under-financed schools. Therefore, I'm looking in the near future that the KHSAA to dissolve and only club sports to maintain school facilities at their expense and they will rent gymnasiums from school districts and pickup insurance expenses. With the disappearance of the KHSAA and no one regulating athletics in Kentucky, you lose everything in smaller communities as well as larger populated communities. What happens with Title IX? What happens to community support? Community pride? Academic regulations? This is part of what'll happen if AAU is allowed free access to switch schools.
  7. Hilltopper2005 and mmastin22 Are both haters and proclaim to be from Harrison Co. Thanks for fueling OUR team. If you didn't know baseball practice is ongoing for 3 players even during basketball season!
  8. Coach O'Hearn is a classy coach and Mason Co. Is a basketball power in the 10th. It's very difficult being the favorite and having the bullseye on your back. Pressure was was on the Royals before the ball was tipped. Coach O'hearn handled the game in a professional manner before and after the game. Just wish handshakes by players could have been arraigned. An attempt was made by Harrison Co,but the Royals got tired of waiting and were very emotional anyways. Great game on both ends!
  9. Should be a great one on the hilltop! Looking forward to a competitive game. Mason Co. is "REALLY" good!! Royals are not missing from the perimeter!
  10. You have to give it to Scott Co.!! They have it all figured out and KHSAA can't stop them!!! Basketball Prep School
  11. Impressed this past weekend with the 2 Harrison Co. players. Thompson killed on the boards and Jenkins penetration scoring and setting up shots for players on the perimeter. Harrison Co. will return a solid nucleus of players this next season.
  12. spurlock would be a great fit for the current superintendent, not sure about his ego, but know first hand he'll support transfers moving into the community.
  13. If I were a coach seeking a head coaching job, I would be very skeptical about applying at Montgomery County. I witnessed Jason Holland while coaching at Henry Co., 2-3 hours prior to playing, mopping the floor by hand. I'm not sure what else a coach can do... He reaches out to the communities and support his program by hosting tournaments, classics, and team camps in the summer. Each event brings money into the community. At each of his stops as a head coach he's developed his own players in the feeder program and been very successful. Administration and money i the community must want things done differently.
  14. Campbell shot "Lights Out" vs. Bracken Co. Will be an interesting game and will come down to who plays the most relaxed. Harrison has multiple ways to attack Campbell with either the press or grind it out in the half court. Personally, I'd like to see them mix it up and not be so predictable. Harrison Co. dodged a serious bullet vs. Clark Co. defense.
  15. Montgomery is still a "big" favorite. Will be interesting to see how the weather effects this years tourney schedule.
  16. The only ones I've noticed cryin were the Pendleton co faithful for Drawing Harrison Co. If it were seeded this year, HC would have been playing Pendleton Co.
  17. With a few more tweaks and some toughness, HCHS could be representing the 10th at Rupp! Go Breds!
  18. After reading all of the posts, it sounds like Harrison Co is a team that the folks of Winchester are not accustomed to losing to. Cardinals are rebuilding and only score 3 points in 2 of 4 quarters. Don't guess the length and defensive skills of HC players has a thing to do with cardinals scoring? These are all Harrison players that have come up through the feeder program. No benefit of transfers either.
  19. Harrison Co. (5-5) Clinton Co. (9-4), HC trailed pretty much the entire game. Trailed by 4 at half and trailed by as much as 7 points in the 3rd quarter. Outscored Clinton Co. 18-10 in the final quarter to take a 5 point victory. Harrison Co. led in scoring by Dillon Pulliam with 22 and DJ Jenkins and Trenton Thompson with 12 points a piece. HC hit FT's down the stretch and found a way to win against a quality opponent.
  20. Harrison Co. plays 5 teams in the current top 20. Holmes, Scott Co., Henry Clay, Montgomery Co., and Collins. Will be interesting if they can compete with the some of the top flight teams in KY.
  21. DJ Jenkins. Jr, After growth spurt is about 6'2", has really improved his skills and strength.
  22. Harrison Co. will be much improved from last year and will be in the mix in the 10th region.
  23. Harrison Co. 5-1 thru 2 days. Wins vs Conner, Shelby, Johnson Central, Pulaski, and Oldham. Lost yesterday to Lincoln Co.
  24. I would sure hope they could get someone better than Reinhardt. He was 16-45 in two seasons at Nicholas County and with their schedule they should have been better. I wouldn't be misled by these stats. Harrison Co. played them twice a year and if you compare Reinhardt's team from his first of the year to tourney time they improved more than anyone. You have to take into consideration the community of Carlisle as well, extremly small. Programs in communities like that cannot be built it in 2 years, they have to be built from the bottom up with solid feeder programs.
  25. Yes and it's been rumored that Montgomery is going to the 16th region as well.
