Final.

Will wait for goldie's report, but looks like GRC's offensive struggles continued.

Really good win for Coach Kendall & the Breds. :thumb:

To the bolded.....:ohbrother: GRC scored 19 points in the first quarter, score GRC 19 HC 16. Together in the 2nd,3rd and 4th Q. GRC only scored 18 points. We scored 3 in the 2nd Q and 3 in the 4thQ. Can't win games that way, but only got beat by 13. Harrison had 3or 4 inches on each of our players, GRC would get one shot and that was it. Damion King did a excellent job on Pulliman tonight, basically shut him down. Problem is Harrison has many weapons, all can shoot from anywhere. Don't know how many 3's they had, but it was several. My favorite player for them tonight was #10 Jenkins. Very smooth, athletic and had some great moves tonight.

Great seeing my old friend Jamie Case tonight.

Scores by quarters:

GRC 19, 22, 34, 37

HC 16, 35, 40, 50

Jenkins led Harrison with 20 followed by Thompson with 11.

King led GRC with 14.

Harrison Co hit several 3s. Probably at least 7 or 8. GRC did a poor job contesting those, especially in the first half. That was probably the difference.

Enjoyed watching Jenkins. I felt like I was in the early 90s watching him.

18 points in three quarters? Wow.

Love D.J. Jenkins' game as well, Rez.

Didn't know you were at the game, would have bought you a Ale-8. Believe Thompson had 3 3's all in the first half. How many did Pulliman have? Really thought that King did a great job on him tonight and giving up several inches in height. Thought the refs did a great job of letting them play. Only 6 fouls called in the first half, 3 for each team. Maybe they wanted to get the game over early and watch the UK game....:lol2:

Yes, after we had scored 19 in the first quarter. This team will have me bald headed before the season is over from watching them on offense and missing baskets.....:lol2: Thought we played good defense overall tonight. King scoring but most important his defense is showing why he is one of the top players in the region IMO.

I believe they said he had 5. King certainly did a good job on him.

I'll let you know next time I'm there!

I know you already said it, but seeing the "3" in both the 2nd & 4th quarters. Wow.

You should have been there to watch it.....:ohbrother:And we only got beat by 13. Just think if we could have scored say 10 each quarter. We would have won. Love this team and their hustle on defense, and gritty play. They never give up. King is the only one that is giving us consistent scoring, but he can't do it by himself.

I was excited after the first quarter. Thought we might see a relatively high scoring game...

Then the second quarter happened.

Wow...just goes to show how quickly the mighty can fall. It was just a couple of years ago when GRC was a top team in the state and potential contender for the championship. Has the talent level gone down that much there, are they just really young...what?

First quarter was fun to watch, both teams going after it. I told my friends I was sitting with, now if we can just at least have 3 quarter like this....well just like all season, our scoring woes continue.

We have not fallen, just rebuilding. We have gone from being the tallest team in the state to I would say the smallest. We have two seniors on this team, one starts. Our lineup changes from game to game, but lately we start, 1 senior, 2 juniors, a sophomore and a freshman. This Freshman class we have this year is really talented. Our 8th grade class has several good guards coming up and our 7th grade class is where our height will come from. So the cupboard is not bare, just will be a few years.

Wish you could see this team play. They would win your heart on how hard they try and hustle. We have only lost one game to a blow out against ranked Collins. We have played a very competitive schedule and been right there at the end in all the other games and taking two games to OT. Even as small as we are we have out rebounded some teams, we shouldn't have. IF and when we can get more scoring, watch out, we will upset some teams.

I also forget to mention that Malachi Israel did not play again last night. He had surgery on his mouth for a injury last week and when he will return is not clear at this time.

After reading all of the posts, it sounds like Harrison Co is a team that the folks of Winchester are not accustomed to losing to. Cardinals are rebuilding and only score 3 points in 2 of 4 quarters. Don't guess the length and defensive skills of HC players has a thing to do with cardinals scoring? These are all Harrison players that have come up through the feeder program. No benefit of transfers either.
