Woodford County Head Coach Job
Touch The Line replied to Triple_Threat's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I have only heard about two candidates thus far, Hundley and Kirk, I am sure there are other names, just not aware of them yet. -
Woodford County Head Coach Job

I would imagine they will name a person very shortly after spring break. This will give the new coach some time to get acquainted with his players and get them started doing open gyms, lifting, etc, before summer ball begins. -

Whose to say that Hundley, the JV coach at Jessamine, or some other JV coach wouldn't do a good job. Some times a school has to take a chance on a JV coach rather than going out and finding a varsity coach from another school. As stated earlier in a previous post, it just depends on the direction in which the school wants their program to go in, that is why the interview process is so important for all parties involved. -

From my understanding the way they do it is that all coaches nominate players if they want and then a ballot will be sent around to all coaches with those nominated players and the coaches vote. The top 15 vote getters on the All-Region Team. I think there were extra's this year because of some ties in the voting process. I may be wrong though. -
Looking in from the outside and simply reading some of the post, there seems to be some issues with support from the administration and from some parents. Now, what coach is going to want to go into that type of atmosphere? I do think Scott is a great program, Trame and Carr have done wonders, I think it would be a shame if Carr left becuase, as stated in a previous post, a few parents complain because thier baby gets called out during games. I would have loved to have played for a guy like Carr, in your face, aggressive, energetic, that is basketball. If you dont like it, go play Church Ball.

State tournament will introduce you to....

I am very interested in seeing some of the names and faces from Newport. With the huge statement win over a very good Holmes team, could make for a fun and interesting run by the wildcats. -

I heard it through the grape vine the there might be a Scott Hundley sighting in Woodford County????? The man is all over the place, but well deserving of a head coaching job! -

In terms of relative location to the 10th Region, there really is no neutral site to host the tournament. I am sure they have thought about it long and hard. It would be nice if a convention center or something else was built where they could host the 10th. -
Grant County Head Coach Job
Touch The Line replied to marvel's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I say hire Hundley. He has played for coaches such as Billy Hicks and Stallings (sp?), he has coached under the likes of Hicks at Scott County and Griesser at Montgomery County. You know that he has a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the game that he has received from these great coaches and institutions. Just based on his former playing days, you know he is going to work extemely hard to make the program the best it can be. Not to mention he would bring with him a re-new spirit to the program and I'm sure some excitement based on his credentials alone. Grant would be a good fit for him, maybe some of those 6'8 Scott County boys walking the halls would decided to transfer to be with him??????????????? -

Never have agreed more with anything in my life, worse popcorn ever. Very buttery, salty, and it left an awkward texture in my mouth. I was forced to buy a drink as well afterwards. I think it was a way make more money?????:jump: -

Congrats Mason County, exciting game throughout, especially the last 3 minutes or so. Great job by Coach O'hearn and the players to get themselves ready to play. Mason proves once again that they are the best team in the 10th until they can be knocked off. Represent the 10th at Rupp! -

I have a strong feeling that if Bart Lenox is representing the 10th Region at the State Tournament that he will be one of the 3. I have an idea of who the other two will be, I know faces better than names. -
They go to Dixie, Cov Cath, Highlands, etc. Year in and year out the Lions program has quality teams throughout, very good coaches in the program. If Lloyd wants to return to their dominant ways, these kids have to stick around. Is John Dunhoff (sp?) still running the Lions program?

Regardless of who the refs are in any game, people are going to be displeased with the performance of the crew. However, these refs were selected to work the Regional Tournament for a reason. I think it is unfair to say that certain crew members should not be allowed to work any more games or be completely dismissed because of one bad call. Now, that was a huge call, but if any other person in their own profession made one mistake, would it be fair to fire them from their job? -

Point well made Triple Threat! Grant County basketball has the respect it does today because of Kinman. Just look at the list of talented coaches that have been mentioned to take over the program. I find it hard to believe that any of those people would want that program had Kinmon not made it what it is today. -
Newport 60 Holmes 34
Touch The Line replied to SportsGuy41017's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
It is hard to say that this is a huge upset, Newport has been playing well all year long, just didn't get all the hype that Holmes got, but still this is a game that makes you go WOW!!! I am very excited about seeing Newport at the State Tournament, hope they have some carry over about them. This is a great time for the city of Newport and thier players, staff, fans, administration, and others involved. Hope they have great fan support at Rupp, they got mine!
