  1. Are we really going to talk about "hometown" players? What is considered hometown?
  2. I agree as well that Rogers probably should be on that list. No offense, but I have never heard of Colton Fraysure from Agusta (Im sure he is a good player), but I think I would feel comfortable saying that Rogers could easily take that spot. You stick him on another team in the region where he is the #1 or #2 guy, I think he can be a 20ppg and 12rbs per game type of player. Also good to see Prewitt up there in the top 10, very exicted to watch him play this year!
  3. Not trying to sound rude, but this is for basketball correct?
  4. I am in agreement with you. If you have senior that is not capable of helping your Varsity team significantly, why take up time that your younger players could use to develop and get better?
  5. I think its unfair to compare stats with these two players. True Towles doesnt have the weapons to throw to and perhaps that is why he runs more, thus more rushing yards and touchdowns, but if Lorenzen didn't have Smith, who know how many rushing yards and touchdowns he would of had. It just depends on the type of team you have. Both are great athletes and Towles is very lucky to have Lorenzen at his side helping him and praising his abilities.
  6. I think Clark's biggest challenge is going to be making sure to keep thier cool and calm when teams slow the pace of the game WAY down, get used to it, its going to happen!!!!!
  7. Some of the resons why they have fallen so far is because of kids being "pulled out" of the program for whatever reason (not liking teachers, athletics, location). Lloyd is in a difficult spot, as a small independent school inside Kenton County, they have a lot of other big schools to compete with. Many kids can decide to go to Scott, Simon, Dixie, St. Henry, etc, and I truly feel that many kids attend these bigger schools. Even still, every year Lloyd does a great job academically, each year they have very good test scores, so you know they are doing things right in the classroom, motivating thier students to do well. I know that Mr. Riehman (spelling?) would love to keep all programs that have been dropped plus add some, however, the money is just not there to do so. As a former Juggernaut myself, I know that the administration is doing everything they can to make that school the best it can be. I think they good coaches in place that teach kids the right way, how to be good STUDENT ATHLETES and good people (Coach Moore, Coach Key, Coach Lucas, etc). I love my Juggernauts and I also hope that things get turned around and continue to complete athletically as they did several years ago.
  8. Hey, I think we may have grown up on the same street, I see the same thing. I also remember ("back in the day") when Silver Lake Park was packed full of kids of all ages playing basketball and football, very rarely is it used any more????????????? Interest in sports and athletics is not the same as it used to be.
  9. I agree with your statement completely. I would have a hard time telling my kids to back off regardless of what group was in, that is when kids get hurt.
  10. Well if it was 9-0, there had to have been some doubt. Sounds like Conner was having some of the same issues Navy did this past Saturday, moved the ball just could not finish.
  11. GRC clearly too big for MC up front tonight. MC with several costly turnovers that hurt as well. Congrats to GRC.
  12. I think the rain will be gone, should be a great night for football!
  13. Last week, Montgomery County held a moment of silence in memory of Mykal and wore the #8 on their helmets. Tonight, MCHS will again have a moment of silence for the Clark County player to remember him. Lots of emotions going into this game tonight, will be a dandy!
  14. By no means am I questioning the kids that are out there busting their tails, I am questioning the overall work ethic inside the school and its not just Lloyd, many schools suffer because of the lack of work ethic from the general population inside the school. I am very familiar with Lloyd and the one thing I know for sure is that the kids that do come out work just as hard as any other team around. I hope to see the Lloyd of old soon.
  15. Im not saying that losing kids is an excuse, but it is part of the problem. Another big problem with many of these kids is that they are not the same type of kids back when Tassini was there (by the way, I wish they would bring back the L with the 3 diamonds). I remember the old Lloyd teams from the 90's, the kids today are no where near as dedicated, kids now are not able to be out in the heat working hard, they are so used to being in the air conditioning in front of a playstation, wish the old attitude of past would return to Lloyd. If a change is needed, who would you recommend?
  16. Do I think any other coach could win at Highlands, yes, but only because of the tradition that Coach Mueller has brought to the Highlands system. As stated previously, coaches before were not able to win state with just as much talent, Coach M is doing it and playing up in divisions. Will be interesting to see what would happen to Highlands if/when coach decides to move on to bigger things.
  17. I do not think its the coaching staff that is the problem, Coach Lucas, Pilgram, and the rest of the staff do an amazing job on the field and in the classroom respectively. They have a great youth program in place (Erlanger Lions), but many of these young kids are sent elsewhere to other schools prior to entering the high school program. I wonder if you look at current rosters of schools across NKY this year and in years past, how many of these kids that are big contributors to their teams were part of the Lions system and left before going to Lloyd (the running back from Beechwood is one that comes to mind). As a Lloyd Alum and a former athlete in the system, Lloyd has always had a bad rap for whatever reason, but truthfully, it is a very good school with great leadership inside the system. I really feel that when the kids that are in place in the youth system decide to stick around and not move to the bigger schools that get more exposure, I think Lloyd could be back in the mix in all athletics like they once were. Just my opinion, Im sure others may disagree.
  18. Who looked good for the Indians and what were Pawsatts stats?
  19. I believe that Montgomery travels to Mason to take on the royals. Both teams coming off good opening performances..................who wins this one??????
  20. I hope this performance by Cov Cath does not affect the rest of the season!
  21. Did they not just get a new transfer that apparently is pretty talented?
  22. I think Montgomery County will have to improve thier ability to win close games and be able to play under pressure. There will be a lot of close games this year that can go either way. Montgomery will have to be able to execute in order to pull out some of these close wins. They are going to also have to be able to score when Prewitt is having an off night.
  23. I was really pleased with Shotwell at the KBA. Coaches from Georgetown were pleased as well!
