Kinda figured this one would be ugly...Holmes simply too big, strong, and fast for the Juggs.

Lloyd only has about 25 kids on the roster. Couldn't believe my eyes when I was handed the roster in the press box. Hopefully the middle school program can kick start things and get back to normal. Just sad to see...

Holmes did what they wanted and when they wanted to. The offense played much better compared to last week and the defense was all over the place. I also hope to see Lloyd get back to where they used to be 25 kids on the roster and it seemed like they had five on the sidline on crutches.

Congrats Holmes.

Man remember when Lloyd used to be a big part of the football tapestry in Northern Kentucky. Here's hoping the Juggs can turn it around.

It appears that it might be time for a staff change at Lloyd.

Congrats Holmes.

Ditto.

What has gone wrong at Lloyd. Is Coach Lucas still there?

Pretty much all of Lloyd's sports programs have declined over the years.

It doesn't seem like they care.

Might #23 be that freshman running back...Scruggs is the name I think.

That's him. Looked pretty good in the 4th...

I do not think its the coaching staff that is the problem, Coach Lucas, Pilgram, and the rest of the staff do an amazing job on the field and in the classroom respectively. They have a great youth program in place (Erlanger Lions), but many of these young kids are sent elsewhere to other schools prior to entering the high school program. I wonder if you look at current rosters of schools across NKY this year and in years past, how many of these kids that are big contributors to their teams were part of the Lions system and left before going to Lloyd (the running back from Beechwood is one that comes to mind). As a Lloyd Alum and a former athlete in the system, Lloyd has always had a bad rap for whatever reason, but truthfully, it is a very good school with great leadership inside the system. I really feel that when the kids that are in place in the youth system decide to stick around and not move to the bigger schools that get more exposure, I think Lloyd could be back in the mix in all athletics like they once were. Just my opinion, Im sure others may disagree.

You'll be hearing about this kid a lot over the next 4 years.

Scruggs is an absolute stud.

I'm an alum and former athlete as well, and frankly the "losing feeder kids to bigger schools" line is no excuse for only having 25 kids on the squad. It happened in the mid 90s when I was there, and that never stopped Tassini from fielding a highly competitive and deep roster. I'm not saying getting rid of Lucas is the answer, but it's time to take a deeper internal look in the mirror and working with what is in place to get the program back on track IMO...

Lloyd is having the same problem in all sports. i would say 90 percent of kids at lloyd just dont care, they have no discipline or work ethic
