Holmes 46 Lloyd 0

Featured Replies

For Holmes the stud of the show was Jenson, he made all the correct plays and never forced the issue and took what the defense gave him. Greg Clemons was a monster on the defensive side and averaged about eight yards a carry. Desean Peterson had a very good game also at the WR position and laid the wood on several peel back blocks. Tommy Courtny was all over the place at LB and probably had 10-15 tackles. Lloyds passing game still needs to work on timing and line protection. Lloyd will be more competitive when they get into district play and plays 1a and 2a teams.

I'm an alum and former athlete as well, and frankly the "losing feeder kids to bigger schools" line is no excuse for only having 25 kids on the squad. It happened in the mid 90s when I was there, and that never stopped Tassini from fielding a highly competitive and deep roster. I'm not saying getting rid of Lucas is the answer, but it's time to take a deeper internal look in the mirror and working with what is in place to get the program back on track IMO...

Im not saying that losing kids is an excuse, but it is part of the problem. Another big problem with many of these kids is that they are not the same type of kids back when Tassini was there (by the way, I wish they would bring back the L with the 3 diamonds). I remember the old Lloyd teams from the 90's, the kids today are no where near as dedicated, kids now are not able to be out in the heat working hard, they are so used to being in the air conditioning in front of a playstation, wish the old attitude of past would return to Lloyd. If a change is needed, who would you recommend?

I hope you are saying that kids in general are not dedicated and not just the kids on Lloyds football team this year? Those kids work very hard and put in alot of time, they were very simply over matched. No coach in NKY could have made a difference Friday night, plain and simple. Now, that does not excuse the coaching staff for the job that was done Friday or even in the last few years. Coach Lucas is good coach and a good person but I think has surrounded himself with bad coaches. But please don't question the determination and work ethic of kids that were in a no win situation.

Maybe we should be giving kudos to Coach Lickert and the Bulldogs! I dont really know Coach Lickert but it seems like where ever he goes he gets the most out of the programs that he is running, and this year should be no different.

Holmes is a very good team and very well coached, I wish them the best of luck this year...As fas as my JUGGS go I would like to see the schedule get more towards the smaller schools like us so the competition stays more at our level. The players that are hurt really bums me out because its their senior year and you just hate the fact that they will miss it. I know we do not have alot of kids out this year but you can bet that the ones out there are going to give everything they got and that is what I saw Friday night. The Jr. high team is going to be a great feeder to our high school. The freshman team has never left there was just not enough kids to field a team so they just played JV. This year the Freshman team is being coached by Bill Pilgram and Coach Dick Wilmhoff and they look very good. I think alot of people on here knows who Coach Wilmhoff is and you can bet if he is on the staff that they are going to be competitive. Lloyd is young and may take a few lumps but they are going in the right direction, just have faith...GO JUGGS

By no means am I questioning the kids that are out there busting their tails, I am questioning the overall work ethic inside the school and its not just Lloyd, many schools suffer because of the lack of work ethic from the general population inside the school. I am very familiar with Lloyd and the one thing I know for sure is that the kids that do come out work just as hard as any other team around. I hope to see the Lloyd of old soon.
