Saw a thread on the 16th region and decided to start one for our region. Your thoughts.

 

I will start.

 

#1 GRC

 

With GRC only losing one senior and all the height and talent we have returning, I will give them the #1 spot in the region and possibly #1 in the state.

Clearly a two horse race with GRC and Mason.

GRC....then Mason....then the rest of them.

 

I think Scott could possible be a darkhorse with Smith leading the team.

I think Montgomery County could make some noise in the 10th if they have some players to continue to develop. Offensively this team should be able to put up some points led by Prewitt. Add other players that should be able to put up points from anywhere on the court could cause match up problems. The key for this team is to realize that defense wins games and they will have to give 110% on that end of the floor.

Campbell County will have a new look with Coach Aric Russell at the helm. They will be much more up and down the court than in previous years. Look for Seniors Cox & Kennedy and Soph McGovney to lead them and they will have some new faces that did not play last year.

 

Lots of upside in Alexandria this year. Once the dust settles, I look for the Camels to win their district. Brossart and Scott both lost a lot from last year.

^^^McGovney is a player...he impresses me more and more every time I see the kid play. He'll be tough by the time his senior year rolls around.

Mason/Clark Clark/Mason------------the only way any other team has a chance to make the finals is these two meet in the semifinals! Don't overlook Pendleton but with that being said they are many furloughs back from the two previously mentioned teams! This seems to probably be the last year of the Mason/Clark domination so set back and wait for another Fieldhouse classic.

GRC should be #1, but hard to put defending champs there either. Like most have said they are 1 and 2 for sure. I am sure some Louisville schools might object to GRC being #1.

I agree. I think you could have valid reasons for rating J-Town, Eastern or GRC #1.

Mason and GRC and then a pretty wide gap. I like Mason Co as #1 until GRC proves they can beat them when it counts. To be the champ you have to beat the champ.

My belief is that GRC was better last year, but Mason County was better-coached--at least in the game that mattered most. So I think GRC has the talent advantage, but there's more than just talent to factor in. Gun to my head, I say GRC wins the 10th this season.
