10th Region Coach and Player of the Year
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Another aspect of Rogers game that I do not think he gets enough credit for or that people may realize (and Gold Sunrise may have an assist in this post), but Corey Rogers, on most nights, will guard the other teams best player regardless of position. At 6'5 240 (???) and his ability to guard such a diverse group of players in amazing! -
Best Student Section
Touch The Line replied to Teamballer's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Hopefully we have some Cov Cath students on BGP, but I for one would not mind if thier student section was invited to Rupp regardless if Cov Cath wins the 9th or not just for the entertainment of watching them perform! -
Best Student Section

I am a firm believer that if Cov Cath's student section wanted to travel around the state to hold "student section cheering section clinics" that they could attrack some interest. If you have not had the chance to do so, check them out on you tube. -
10th Region Coach and Player of the Year
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think Corey Rogers is very deserving of the award. If you look at his numbers over the past two season's, he has been Clark's leading scorer and if not thier leading rebounder, at least very close to it. He is solid game in and game out and you know what you are going to get from him every night. I thought Stenzel would get it by reputation and name over Rogers, both kids deserving but very glad Rogers got it. Congrats to Coach Humphrey's on the recognition, but as stated by other posters, thought Russell might win. Might have been one of the best year's in terms of being an open region for numerous kids and coaches to win these prestigious awards, has made for a great season thus far. Lets finish strong! -
With Districts upon us, who are some of the teams that might be able to upset someone in the first round and leave some of the big names out of the regional tournament? This is mostly for those teams that seed, any 4/5 seeds that might be able to upend a 1/2 seed in the first rounds?

All 10th Region Teams & Coach Of Year
Touch The Line replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
I wouldn't look into too much, just shows that Campbell may have the best TEAM rather than the best individuals. -
How much longer will he be there until colleges come calling for his services (if they already haven't)?

Sounds just like the J Mack story from a few years back. Great story, wish I could have been there to see it. The reaction of the coach was priceless, stand up guy! Love it!

Clark County 73 Franklin County 57
Touch The Line replied to colonelfan2001's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Agreed that they were not overlooking Franklin Co. Clark knows they will get everyone's best shot, never any time to overlook anyone this season. Also, senior night, lots of distractions, lots of emotions, extremely difficult to get focused on the game. -
Montgomery Co. 63 McCreary Central 58

Finished with 30, with several missed fouls on shots and some easy misses by Prewitt, easily could of had 40+. Young man continuing to show he is one of the top Soph. in the state! -

Any idea where he might end up going to school next year? -
First round district matchups
Touch The Line replied to panther fan's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I would say that a vast majority of the most matchups in the 11th and 7th regions are going to be pretty good! Trinity and Ballard, 1st round district game has the make-up of a state championship game! -
Final score per KHSAA Scoreboard. Congrats to the Saints on the nice win, but on the other hand, how bad of a loss is this for Bourbon? No disrespect towards St. Pat, they play very hard and are well coached, but this should not happen????

Henry Clay hits a baseline 3 at the buzzer to win by 2. Strong showing for the Indians on the road. Prewitt led the Indians with 26 pts 14 rbs.

I do not really follow baseball much, but I hear about Harrison baseball ALL the time! Is this thier region to lose this year and what is it in Cynthiana that makes the Breds sooo successful in baseball?

Harrellson is still terrible, but Vargas is just amazingly horrific. Not saying much that Harrellson is starting.

Montgomery County 52 Mason County 51
Touch The Line replied to mcraycraft's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Agreed, but they do have one, 6'5 Sophomore, broke his ankle beginning of the year, been sitting out since. They will also have a very talented 6'4/6'5 Frosh next year that can play. -

Not sure how the fact that he only scored 11 points means he was only 50%? Since Handshoe didn't score 20 does that mean he was only at 75%? Setty had his opporunities to score, just could not convert. Sick or not, Montgomery forced a lot of those missed shots and executed when they needed. Congrats on the win!
