Colleges with Multiple Local 2010 Commits

Add Azrey Crisp (Montgomery County) to that list of Asbury signees! -
Montgomery County Omar Prewitt
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
While all 3 are good players, I do not think that they are in the top 10. Prewitt may be considered a top 10 player in his class, but he is still in the second tier level of players right now, -

Summer Match-Up, Pupil vs. Professor
Touch The Line replied to Touch The Line's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I know its not huge, just trying to add some excitement to a summer game. -
Next week there will be a huge summer matchup between Teacher and Student as Montgomery County (Coach Keith Griesser) plays Woodford County (Coach Scott Hundley). This should be an interesting match-up, I am sure you will see much of the same stuff happening on both ends of the floor for both teams with similar systems in place. I believe this game will be held at Woodford County, should be a good time! Each team has All-State (to be) performers in Jay Johnson from Woodford and Omar Prewitt from Montgomery.

Man, this guy must be something, he has been a good fit for every school that has had a coaching opening in NKY!!!!!!!! In all seriousness, I known Rodney well enough to know that he will get his chance, but Newport would not be a good fit for him with his coaching style.

Agreed, when you lose about half of your offense in one player, it will be hard to replace that. -
Montgomery County Omar Prewitt

Agreed, he will be a player to watch for years to come. Will definitely be a All-State performer! -

Speaking about former Silver Grove personnel, but one person that I wish would get back in the game is former Silver Grove coach Tony Baccagalupo (sp?), did good things down there, would like to see him back somewhere! -
Next Campbell County Coach

Well I would imagine that Scott, Brossart, and Campbell would be up ahead of Pendleton. -
Woodford County 2010/2011
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Nothing ever happened to him, it was rumored that he was going to resign/retire, whatever you want to call it. Somewhere in the process he decided to stay. Again, this all happed after last season, not this season. One mans/schools loss is another mans/schools gain. -
Woodford County 2010/2011
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Woodford's main concern will have to be at the point guard position, they have a solid core of players, and the big kid is a STUD, but ball handling might be a concern. From what I hear they have a young kid coming into the 9th grade the might be able to fill that position. Should be some exciting times over at Woodford with the new hire and all. -
Scott Hundley new coach at Woodford County
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
In order to welcome the new coach in, Woodford County is going to have the new boys coach, Scott Hundley, throw out the first pitch at the baseball game on Friday. So, if you need a good laugh to get you through the weekend, come on out, should be a good show. I have a feeling the old man might be a little rusty! -
Before you get too fired up over something that you have misunderstood, I will say that by no means am I stating that he was SNUBBED by UK, but come on, if you are going to take a kid like Pohlson or Mark Krebs as walk ons, why not take a kid like Vance Hall, who in my opinion is a higher quality player and who may actually contribute to the team. So before you go off putting words in my mouth, I was congratulating the young man and I think the fact that he got a D1 scholarship is great, not taking anything from him. ALL I AM SAYING IS THAT I THOUGHT THAT OUT OF TALENT THAT WE HAVE IN STATE, VANCE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE PLAYERS ON UK's RADAR. In other words, out of all the kids that I got to see play this year, I really liked his game. He has proven all year long that he is one of the top players in the state and will continue to do so. I THOUGHT he would have been a good fit on UK's roster.

Good points made. It is really hard to blame a parent for holding a kid back for whatever reason. There will always be people that want to gripe and complain about the situation, but until it is your own kid, its hard to understand the situation fully. If you begin to look at some of the local tuition costs at some of the state colleges and universities, they are rediculous. If Zeke is not held back, now he may just be your middle of the pack average player in NKY with a chance to earn a scholarship somewhere, by holding him back, now he is one of the top players with great scholarship possibilities to big D1 schools. Either way, dont fault the kid for putting in the work to EARN the scholarship.

Wartman is the guy I was thinking about, thought he had a year left, thanks for the clarification. -
Scott Hundley new coach at Woodford County
Touch The Line replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Congrats to Coach Hundley, I think that the years he patiently waited and learned under the minds of Hicks and Griesser will really pay off for him. Watch out for Woodford, that's not too far of a drive for some of those Scott County boys now! -
Grant County Head Coach Job
Touch The Line replied to marvel's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Grant County does in fact have some talent coming back (not sure of his name, but they have a big kid roughly 6'5 that can play inside and out, good talent, and talent coming up nice frosh team, so I hope that Grant continues to take thier time to find the RIGHT coach for thier program. I am sure those boys will find a way to get into the gym and get work out on their own. Good luck Braves! -
Holmes next coach will be......
Touch The Line replied to 4pointplay's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I would like to see Carr get it, but I have a feeling his "in-your-face" "jump your tail" coaching style might not fly too well with some of those Holmes players?????? -
Woodford County Head Coach Job
Touch The Line replied to Triple_Threat's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
The Woodford County coaching search is over, it was just confirmed, Scott Hundley has been offered the Head Coaching position at Woodford and has happily accepted. Very deserving young man and a great pick by the Woodford administration. Congratulations to Scott! Now, who will join him on his staff? -
