Montgomery County Omar Prewitt

Featured Replies

Nice article in the CJ on Montgomery County Omar Prewitt:

Former University of Kentucky women's basketball standout Lea Wise-Prewitt has been through the process of watching her two daughters become All-State caliber high school players.

Now, the ex-Wildcat is watching her son follow in her footsteps.

Omar Prewitt averaged 18 points a game as a freshman last season at Montgomery County High School and is one of the better prospects statewide in the Class of 2013.

The younger Prewitt has grown from 5-foot-10 last spring to 6-foot-2 and is beginning to fill out. His game has shown all-around improvement since last summer.

Nice article, great kid.

Good stuff.

He could be a very special player.

I would list him at more like 6'3 or 6'4...a guy that can shoot the way he does will find a way to nice high school and college career. Was impressed at the end of the year in region tourney vs. Pendleton where he was the defenses main assignment and still had 28 pts. He has a knack for scoring...will be fun to watch over the next 3 years!

Agreed, he will be a player to watch for years to come. Will definitely be a All-State performer!

He is really beginning to develop as an all around player. Against a taller Conner team this past year he had a bad offensive game (9 points) but finished with 12 rebounds. As a freshman he led the Indians in blocks (26), steals (48), and rebounds (130) as well as scoring as stated in the article. With 92 three pointers made he has moved up to a tie for 6th place on the all time 3 pointers made at Montgomery County and with a good Sophomore season could pass the record up (183) with two years left.

I agree. I look forward to watching him play the next 3 years.

With Mason Monroe, Omar Prewitt, and Nate McGovney, the 10th Region probably has three of the top 10 players in the class of 2013.

While all 3 are good players, I do not think that they are in the top 10. Prewitt may be considered a top 10 player in his class, but he is still in the second tier level of players right now,

Who would be in your list of Tier 1 players??

I don't think there are seven freshmen in the state better than the three the 10th Region have to offer. JMO

Very poised performer. He really played well in the Regional tournament but didn't have any help. Hopefully, for him, MC has some other kids on the way.

They have solid players who can help keep the Indians where they are and possible make the jump. Omar needs to put on some weight and muscle and then he will be a great player with his stroke.
