  1. We went to Tacky Jacks and as bad as this sounds; I didn’t see the brewery. I had something the other night from Fairhope Brewery; can’t remember the name of it though...one of their IPA’s though.
  2. Saw in the weather thread my friend that you all were heading to Gulf Shores about now for the week. We’ve been in Orange Beach. Some reccomendations: Good People IPA (out of Hunstsville) Anything Southern Prohibition (out of Hattiesburg) The Best? Red Hare SPF 50/50 IPA. My wife doesn’t really do IPA’s (I’ve gone all in, though lol) and she loves it. You can get it at the Publix in Orange Beach I know, but a place called Rouse’s in Gulf Shores has a heck of a selection, too.
  3. You can say that last part, again. Without a doubt he’s up in the top spots! Lol
  4. ......tip o' the hat to Coach Adler and all of those in Cougar Land. Wow. Awesome.
  5. ....and, it's all the same out of the Spread. Their scheme doesn't change; the base of it doesn't.
  6. Caldwell kicks a FG to win the game with :03 left in the clock to win the game after a Hook 'n' Ladder to get them in field goal position.
  7. Male, Manual, PRP, Ballard, Fern Creek, Eastern all have very very solid support from their fan base. It's as good there (maybe even more at some of the above) as it is at most places in the state.
  8. This. I'd agree it's too long to an extent, but cut that time off the front end and not off the back. End of November/early December is when it's meant to be ending (preferably keep the finals the 1st week of December like they've been for some 25-30 years now). Playing 3 games before Labor Day is the issue in regards to "how long" the season is. Most all across the state this weekend will have played their 6th game before the official start of Fall (as you know; the actual season this sport was meant to be played in haha)....let that sink in for a minute. Lol.
  9. Lawrence County QB (YES...their QB) had 38 carries for 406 yards and 4 TD's. Team: 56 Rushes for 504
  10. The Dawwwwgs from Louisa get them a big win! Congrats to Coach Short and his young men!!
  11. About to watch a little 3 back football w Navy playing FAU
  12. Not sure about fields, but some games (potential unbelievable match ups) have this going for them. Prep football: @CHBruinFootball and CAL each had 3 possessions in 1st qtr ... CAL 8 yards. CH 5 yards
  13. Here is the catch...these games Thursday will be impacted by heavy rains and likely a lot of lightning with them causing delays, and likely being postponed. Friday?! Forget it Saturday? The thing moves out of here, but only after it's dumped 3-6" of water across a lot of the state = The worst of field conditions. Week 2 of the 2017 season to be remembered for sure!
  14. ...and Thursday doesn't look to be much of a given with some of the reports. Heavy rains starting then. Saturday? The "eye" of the thing is dead over central KY.
  15. Their offensive style of play could also help keep it close. The clock will runnnnnnn (no pun intended).
  16. ...and, sadly...a lot of those (at least at the 1A-3A schools in particular) are "Frosh-More" games; if even anything at all. I know of a couple dang solid 1A programs in the central part of the state who have had to cancel their "JV" games this season, and another 3A school who had to cancel their 1st one of the season on Monday (the day of) due to not enough numbers. It left the other school scrambling trying to find one; only to find others (about that size) who either were fortunate enough to have the date filled & even a couple others in that same relative school size who couldn't afford to play either due to numbers (injuries, kids who have come out late but haven't had enough practices, etc).
  17. Go for 2 every time. For the record; like others have posted- I've been on both ends (the opponent running the clock more than us running it), and it's without question the thing to do. This will also sound bad, but when you're on the receiving end of that butt kicking...especially during one of those ROUGH years, and it's not the first time?! You want your opponent to go for 2 also.
  18. Heard that for Nelson County HS, but it's the same dilemma for Thomas Nelson, too?!
  19. Berea and University of the Cumberlands has some sweet places w these.
  20. Another huge piece of this story was the offseason, tragic death of their former HC Eric Hogg. Webster went 6-5 in 01 & lost all five of their games by 7 points or less; in 02 they returned everybody, and like a many of our rural-small county schools across the state...they were waiting on "this group". In May of 2002; at project graduation..Coach Hogg was playing basketball in the gym w some of the graduating seniors that night & died of a massive heart attack (was in his 30's and relatively good shape from what I remember & have been told).
  21. It's not that they are tired of them matching up; if Central brought a crowd that was half of what Belfry has they'd match them up all day long for a bit longer.... There isn't a bigger Central fan (especially Scroggins era) on here than me, but they just don't bring a crowd... That's the even deeper and likely real reason for what was done. I get bored seeing a lot of the same teams/matchups, but I didn't with those two in the finals.
