  1. The commentators said it, but I'll echo it...I'm absolutely sick for Fischer-Davis and Vandy. Sick.
  2. Say @gchs_uk9 .........when was the last time two teams with the same mascot and colors played against each other in the Sweet 16? :lol2:
  3. #21 LaRue County beat #18 Central Hardin on Monday in 6 innings 11-1.
  4. You really believe this? I mean, I think I know the answer to that question, but I'm holding out for some glimmer of hope.............
  5. Crazy. Awesome. But, forget the snake.... .....can she replace Kaylee Hartung on ESPN?
  6. It's official per Mike Stunson (@Mike_Stunson) of the Paducah Sun.
  7. Not a fan of this. I was down on the field for the Clemson/UL football game in 2015.....she was about 10 feet from me at one time; it was a magical moment. :lol2:
  8. That means nothing to some of them. Nothing. Zero. I'm speaking on some of these type kids in general across the city(s), county, state, etc.
  9. Awesome. I love this dude.....always have.
  10. Dudley Hilton resigned late this afternoon.
  11. One would think, but I remember that when Marc got this job it fell through a few people to him (I remember the thread, but he also told me that personally). It's going to be late in the year, too. Whoever takes this job if they are a current head coach will do so knowing that more than likely their former team will be going into the summer without a coach. When it gets down to crunch time; those strings start tugging at the heart(s) moreso than they do already b/c of how late in the game it is.
  12. This is their 4th coach in as many years. Poverty (poorest county in the state, and one of the poorest in the entire country) and drugs (prescription in particular) are both rampant. The Pharmacies Thriving in Kentucky's Opioid-Stricken Towns - The Atlantic In Depressed Rural Kentucky, Worries Mount Over Medicaid Cutbacks : Shots - Health News : NPR The beauty of high school sports as you know; in particular football? It's the type of thing that can spark an incredible sense of pride in a community....almost like a way of helping hit the reset button.
  13. They did for sure. In his 1st three years they only won 7 games, and his administration never wavered......in a lot of other places across this state (with a lot less resources; especially in terms of personnel) they'd have canned him. Fast forward three years later, and they once again became a fixture in their class across the state. I' happy for him...much deserved.
  14. Sadly; not true (or not what you'd think). Them and Christian County for who knows why have very, very, very thin crowds. It's a crime to be honest. I saw Christian County play this season against a very solid opponent, and when I tell you that 200 people weren't in the stands or standing around....it was just that.
  15. Let's just be honest. How many coaches and/or their wives who don't have ties to the community or area (or any small rural county for that matter) say, "Hey. Let's go live in Manchester." He's from there. He's had some success. Nice hire.
  16. They are middle to low 3A.....already placed in the Belfry, Lawrence County, Pike Central and soon to be Sheldon Clark again district.
  17. No need to ever doubt where these guys (and, gals) get their money. They (the "big 3" anyway are the epitome of 'Self Sufficient'). I think it goes without saying that UL's basketball program rakes in just a little more $$$ than that of LSU's. Here's how much profit an SEC football program makes... and what they do with that cash - FootballScoop
  18. I can't comment on that; even if I knew (which I don't)..it's not my place to say.
  19. North shot the eyes out of it. Petre fouling out late really took its toll on them (expected). Kids rally. I was at tonights game, and also at John's region football final against Shelby County when they went into the game DOWN three of their best players, then found themselves DOWN 17 points at half only to roar back and score 31 UNANSWERED to WIN. In times like those; it's sometimes addition by subtraction. This generation as a whole, and kids from BOTH of these schools catch a lot of crap (in football and basketball), but it's amazing to watch them when they truly pull together. Great, great game tonight. Both groups of fans should be proud of the young men playing & their coaches. North looked like they hadn't missed a beat, and John found themselves down almost all (if not all until the final seconds) of the game..... I think it was even 12-14 points LATE in the 3rd quarter. Whoever draws either of these squads may run them off the court; stranger things have happened (just ask Hopkins Central who beat Dawson Springs by almost 40 and 27 earlier in the year; only to be ousted by them in the 1st round of district play)..but, I wouldn't want to see either of them right now (North being down players or not).
  20. No worries. Exact same here. I'm envious as hell of those who do. I can't build jack. Can't fix anything either. However; I love (and, like to think I've got some kind of skill) landscaping, but it's kind of hard to mess up dirt.
  21. Social Media behavior for example; I hear that this gets brought up nowadays in interviews from administration. THAT BLOWS MY MIND. That's a PARENT and CHILD issue. Not a coach...he has his own self and family to worry about. They aren't tweeting that crap at practice or games.
  22. Man...I'm telling you. It gets to be such a freaking joke reading half of this crap. People out there can't control their 1+ children from doing right or wrong, but coaches are expected to keep 20-120 kids in order all of the time without any hiccups? Such a joke.
  23. Just wondering here & this might be some mind blowing thought, but when the hell are parents (and, the kids themselves-they know right from wrong) going to start being questioned-blamed for behavior detrimental to the team? Parents & some fans expect more from coaches than they do themselves it seems. Crazy thought....I know (insert a large dose of sarcasm).
  24. While I don't disagree one bit; I also don't and never have understood why officials are protected compared to coaches. Now...I'm not saying one bit that people need to come on here calling for officials to resign; however, I've seen plenty of threads over the years questioning officials that are quickly put to a stop. On the other hand; you & I both know that questioning COACHES (high school coaches) is a favorite past time. Both (along with teachers & the POTUS/other government officials) are the jobs that EVERYBODY thinks they can do better than who is doing it, but fail (most of the time) to step forward and take it on. Calling for officials to resign along with coaches on here are one in the same in my book (not insinuating you don't/wouldn't feel the same; just my 2 cents).
