Interesting thread but I wonder if McCreary has never beat Williamsburg then how is this game such a great rivalry.

Think there is any chance of McCreary and Lynn Camp reconsidering after the festivities at their scrimmage.

Odd that you word that as Woods being on the same level as Jackson. In my book Woods is several levels ahead of Jackson. If Jackson continues to win district titles for the next decade or so along with a couple more region crowns and a few other deep runs into the region tourney then we, Oh wait I forgot. Play on Saturday night in Rupp Arena! Then we can discuss if Woods and Jackson are on the same level. Of course by that time Woods just might have gotten another win or two to add to his resume.

We've been hearing that McCreary was a favorite for the past two years but still they haven't played in the region tournament. The question was what do the Raiders need to do? I say they need to make it out of the district and quit worrying about if they are a favorite or not.

I think it's even more wide open than last year. Does anyone know what Rockcastle has returning. McCreary, Wayne and SW could all be at the top but only two of them make it to the Region, Probably Rockcastle and Pulaski out of the 47th but I don't know what Casey has coming back, seems like they had several seniors last year. I don't know as much about the northern districts but I don't think you can count out any of the bigger schools. Really I don't see anyone being as much ahead of the pack as Lincoln and McCreary seemed to be last year.

How about the Hanson trio at Pulaski Co in the 80's which ended with Reggie leading Fraley' Maroons to a State title in 1987.

How do they select these players? Cody Decker was the third best senior on his own team and it's been that way for the past three seasons. He barely even got off the bench late in the season after he came back from an injury. I'm not trying to be harsh on Decker but there are several seniors from the 12th region that are more deserving and as I said two from his own team.

Not all schools have teams competing in all sports therefore the region alignments may be different in each sport.

No one even going to mention when Miller ran over Ferguson (i think) on the baseline and a block was called on Elliott. The whole arena it seemed disagreed with that call.

I've wondered about his commitment to Kentucky. Did UK formally offer him a scholorship for the 10-11' season or did Euton just make it known that he would be going to UK under the assumption that he would be a top recruit that could almost pick any school he wanted. Also regardless of how the commitment came about it's still just a verbal one that can be retracted by either side, is this correct.

If thats the case then that would mean that shooting %'s have gone up since the breakaway's have been used wouldn't it.

Did Wayne come into the tournament hotter that Lincoln who had won 17 of 19? They had certainly been playing well and had some impressive wins but they were not on the run that Lincoln has been.

My picks in the semi's are Lincoln and W Jess. I didn't think Somerset really played that well against Wayne it was just that two teams didn't play well and one of them had to win and move on. Somerset did play well down the stretch to seal the win but I wouldn't say they put it together and played well for the game. They still haven't broken the 40 point barrier in the last two games.

The final numbers may have been pretty close it just seems like there was a stretch where Lincoln got every rebound and that played a big part of them opening up the lead.

Pulaski keeps chuging along. I keep expecting them to have an off night but they keep playing well and advance. It will take their best game yet to get by Lincoln but I don't think it will be impossible if they keep getting contributions from as many different players as they have been getting lately.

In reality there is so little difference when you get to # 10 and 11 or 12 that it's nearly impossible to come up with a definalte list. I have no problem with the Wild Thing' list but I also agree that Wells is just as deserving to be there as should Derek Payton from Monticello, Whitis from Pulaski, Spurlin from Lincoln.

Southwestern was doing what they had to to give them a chance. I thought they did a very good job of it and they were in the game until the fourth quarter. Unfortunately Lincoln was composed enough stretch the lead and force Southwestern to speed up the tempo a little. Also it seemed as if Lincoln outhustled the Warriors especially on the glass.

Southwestern is just happy to be there, Lincoln is focused on getting back to Rupp and is not overlooking Southwestern based on thir game late in the year and what Southwestern did to McCreary who Lincoln knows was a very good team. Lincoln is up by 25 at some point in the game, it may end up somewhere around 16-18 but the Patriots are in control from the second quarter on.

I'm going against the grain and saying E Jess by 9. Pulaski had played very well as of late but they have not shown the abilty to be consistent all year and I think they are about due for an off game. E Jess started off terrible but after the Holiday tournaments they played decent and are actually probably a better team than people perception of them because of the early season struggles.

If schedule strength was that important then how did Southwestern play so well when they basically played the same schedule as McCreary. If you look at the final month of the season you can see that Southwestern was much improved over the team that played in December and that McCreary struggled with some teams they shouldn't have down the stretch. After considering those two factors it still took a nearly perfect game by the Warriors both shooting the ball and defending it to pull off a one point win. If schedule strength is such a factor then Southwestern has no chance against Wayne County right? Bryan Station, Lex Catholic, St.X (Cincinnati) Corbin. Judging by schedule strength I not sure Southwestern can even get on the scoreboard Saturday night.
