Mercer County 73 McCreary Central 70

Where did you have Lincoln before thier loss last night? -
If Lawrence goes undefeated in regular season then they will most likely play the loser of this Friday's McCreary Central at Rockcastle Co game in the first round.

I don't think too many parents are concerned about how well their kids play against other freshmen, I think they are looking at giving the kid another year to play at the end of those four years instead of at the beginning. I think there is a much better chance they will get some notice from college's if they get that extra year beyond what would have been their senior year. If it means a better chance for your kid to play college sports then I completely support holding back. Age doesn't make any difference in college and generally I don't see how an extra year of maturity could hurt either.

McCreary Central 2009/2010
region12hoops replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I remember McCreary having a very good 8th grade team and those kids are seniors now. They looked to have a very solid 4 players to go along with Watts who was already starting on the high school team. Roark and the point guard were two of the four on that team. What happened to the others? Is Chitwood one of the players that was on that team? -
McCreary Central/Wayne County Predictions

I say Wayne in a close game 24-20. -
McCreary Central 40 Pineville 24

Watts ran for 3TD's and passed for 1 while Roark ran for 3 ? That's 42 points without any pat's or 2pt conversions. Did Mccreary get penalized two points somehow? -

Didn't Wayne beat the Raiders twice last season and return nearly everyone. -

Yes it was. Both semi's are tonight weather permitting. -
I think they got the best draw, just not as good of a draw as they thought.

I can't find a score for the last game of the evening. Did it rain them out?

Do you play to win 1 game or 3?
region12hoops replied to JBCousins's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I say throw your best. Depending on the schedule it may come down to your #3 vs the other teams #3. If they saved their better pitchers for the finals then they were lucky it didn't burn them and they get the advantage. You may find youself in the finals but against someone who knocked off the best team because they thought they could save the pitching and it burned them. -
Wouldn't you rather have length. Assuming two players have equal "hops" aren't you more interested in how high a player can reach with his arms over how tall he measures at the top of his head. Don't you rebound, block shots, shoot and play defense more with your arms than your head (physically speaking)?

According to the Sweet 16 radio network Elliott's win over Shelby Valley was his 400th. The loss to Holmes would have been his 366th.

SSF's 2009/10 12th Region Preview:

Southwestern loses Woolridge, Jones, Young, Muse and Fothergill. They may struggle quite a bit next year. No way would I put them in the top five of the region. -
Which School Will Bring the Biggest Fan Base?
region12hoops replied to King James's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
My estimates from largest to smallest Grayson Graves West Jessamine Adair Eastern Corbin (Hard to judge, seems like they had more fans scattered through the lower arena than other schools) Hazard Central -
Grayson County 45 Adair County 33
region12hoops replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Wow 74 out of 80 people on the contest thread picked Adair over Grayson. I don't think anyone got all four games right for Wed. Maybe one person got them right but I think all six who picked Grayson also had Hazard. -
West Jessamine vs. Hazard
region12hoops replied to Baseballguy's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I think the difference may be experience. Hazard won a game at Rupp last year and has played several games in the All A the past two years. They are much more prepared to handle the environment than West Jess. is. I predict Hazard gets out to a solid lead. In the second half W Jess closes the gap but can't catch Hazard. Hazard pulls back away in the last two minutes and wins by 10-13. -
Anderson County vs. Elliott County

Elliott by 15 and maybe even stretching the margin into the lower 20's late in the game. -
