Wow 74 out of 80 people on the contest thread picked Adair over Grayson. I don't think anyone got all four games right for Wed. Maybe one person got them right but I think all six who picked Grayson also had Hazard.

I think the difference may be experience. Hazard won a game at Rupp last year and has played several games in the All A the past two years. They are much more prepared to handle the environment than West Jess. is. I predict Hazard gets out to a solid lead. In the second half W Jess closes the gap but can't catch Hazard. Hazard pulls back away in the last two minutes and wins by 10-13.

Elliott by 15 and maybe even stretching the margin into the lower 20's late in the game.

McCreary has played in two or three region finals since the 1983 team. Wouldn't those games be bigger games than this game. Regional finals > Region semi's.

In 1983 McCreary beat Somerset in the first round of the region 46-43. They beat Pulaski in the finals, not sure about the semi's but I'm positive about Somerset and Pulaski

I thought the diference was mainly being able to shoot the ball. They lit it up last night. If the shots had not been going in like in the last couple of weeks they would look like the same team that lost six in a row.

Did Pyles draw up the play to get the ball to the 8th grader to score at the horn or should Stearns get that credit for getting it to her. Does Pyles get the credit for Fothergill missing the free throw that left the door open for the winning basket by Wayne.

The All Region teams are tournament only. Have you ever seen a player from a team who didn't make the tournament named to the team after the finals? The All District teams are probably supposed to be tournament only but a coach could get his star player on the team even if he didn't have a good game.

Good game. With the history of the past two seasons seemingly coming back to haunt the Raiders as they let the lead slip away and trailed by six, they bounced back and made the plays down the stretch. The steal by Dixon was the big play I thought, Without it Southwestern has the ball down one just like last year. I couldn't believe how McCrearys #43 was able to keep scoring against the size Southwestern has in the middle but he flat took it to them in the first half. Can he usually make those type shots? It's like he just holds the ball out and throws it up there because otherwise it would get blockedbut it keppt going in. Congrats to the Raiders for pulling it out and Congrats to Southwestern, you came a long ways from losing everyone two seasons ago to geing as good as anyone in the region. It's a shame they don't get to play in the region but obviously one very deserving team has to go home. It's also the first time since being in the district with Wayne, McCreary and Monticello that the Warriors have missed the regional.

48th district plays one game per night. Girls on Mon/Tue. Boys on Wed./Thur. Girls finals Fri. Boys finals on Sat.

Rockcastle County is almost identical to Southwestern. I think that there may be more seats in the lower level at Rockcastle but I can't remember for sure. I remember going to Southwestern and it seems like there was still seats remaining so I think it's large enough. How big is Mercer's new gym? I haven't seen it yet.

I've never heard of a 12th region game being so crowded that they turned anyone away. Has this actually happened in the past 25 or so years with the larger gyms hosting the tournament.

That is how it was done before the current arrangement. I think the main reason for the change was because of the central location of Lincoln and Pulaski. It would be a long and late getting home trip if you lived on one end.(Mercer, Jessamine Co's) and played the late game on the other end (McCreary, Wayne) For the record I agree Pulaski is by far the best place to hold the tournament. PC feels like an arena while all the other schools feel like a high school gym.

The 12th is so close it's unreal. I think only Monticello and KSD can't win in the first round of the district and any of the remaining teams could pull out a win in the regional. Not win three in a row but put it together one game and knock out a serious contender which could change the whole tournament.

And just to add another interesting note the 14th and the 12th face each other in the opening round of the sweet 16.
