One list has Powell shooting 55 free throws against Wolfe Co in 1966 and the other list says Wolfe shot 55 free throws. I assume the most recent revision is the correct one. Still it's quite fishy that Powell made the list five times within a seven year period 1965-72.

You beat Southwestern by six and your a "lock" to go to the region. Who do you play in the first round of the district?

Its also just a possible for Lincoln and McCreary to meet in the semi's (or even first round since Wayne or Boyle either one could win their district) which might give the other team in the finals an advantage since the Lincoln/McCreary rematch will be such an anticipated and likely emotionally draining game. It could be very tough for the winner to bounce back the next night and be on top of thier game against another tough opponent, especially if that other semifinal isn't a real barnburner.

Looks like Southernsportsfan knew what he was talking about. Also looks like there are about seven teams with legit shots at winning this region. Lincoln being taken to OT by Boyle and beat by McCreary has brought them back to the pack. Lincoln may still be the best but I think any of the top seven teams could beat each other on a given night.

I'll go with Casey even though they have been on the skids lately. A Rebel win keeps them in the hunt for a number one seed in the district so they certainly have some motivation.

For a school the size of McCreary and to have had very solid seasons the past couple of years it looks like they would have a good student backing but the couple of games I've been to over the past couple of seasons there seems to be no student section at all. The crowd size seems decent and it seemed the fans cheered pretty loudly but there was just no section where students gathered like at Pulaski or Somerset or SW (when they were playing well) that can make a home floor a real advantage. While I'm on the topic I'll also give credit to Lincoln, Boyle, W Jess and Mercer for having good student sections.

Somerset by 22-28 points, could be 40 if they wanted it to be. The 12th region all A is almost a waste of time. Hopefully Danville can get themselves back to a competitive level and provide a challenge to Somerset in the upcoming years. Monticello may give a challenge every once in a while but there not going to be at that level on a consistent basis.

What is a "close block"?

So those two are automatically meeting in the regional tournament? Is McCreary so good that Mercer or Somerset or Boyle or W Jess(again) could not beat them. Even Casey Co for that matter only lost to McCreary by 7 or 8 didn't they. I will give McCreary the credit they deserve but it's not like they have blown away everyone in the region and no one but Lincoln can challenge them.

I wouldn't say they "should" win the district just yet. Despite the two comfortable wins over Wayne that doesn't mean that beating them a third time to win the district is going to be anything but a battle. Wayne is very capable of beating anyone in the region on a given night. I agree that Lincoln has seperated themselves at the top of the region. The other contenders are about even in my estimation. Those include McCreary, Wayne, Somerset, Boyle, W Jess and Mercer. McCreary may have Waynes number this year but they are 1-1 against the others and haven't played Somerset or Boyle. By the way does anyone know district tourn sites in the 12th this year.

I was thinking the same thing, W Jess and Boyle are anything but easy wins. SW only lost to Somerset by 12 the first time and Monticello just thumped SW last night. I certainly expect Somerset to win over those two but you never know when somebody will have one of those everything goes right nights and pulls off the upset.

Why does Danville and Burgin have to go all the way to Monticello to play their first round game. Wouldn't they have a much better crowd at one of those schools or at Boyle or Mercer Co. if it has to be at a neutral site. If Monticello is hosting the tournamnet then fine, let them play at home every one of their games but it's really dumb in my opinion for everyone to drive over an hour when the school are less than 30 minutes from each other.

I think the Jumpers are certainly a better team but Pulaski has been playing better as of late and Somerset is capable of underachieving at any time. I think Pulaski leads early but lets the upset slip away in the final quarter and Somerset wins by 6-8 points.

Why do you say "should be the championship game"? I know some times you get the shaft on the road but if the host team can just pick which game is the championship thats taking it to a whole new level.

Good job by the Raiders in representing the 12th region. Calloway appears to be a very solid team looking at their results on the scoreboard. Today has been kind of rough on the 12th region with Somerset, Boyle, Casey losing and Wayne with a tall task at Bryan Station (haven't seen a score yet) Who does McCreary play tomorrow?

WOW. I was somewhat surprised when I heard that Somerset had lost but this is the shocker of the night. I figured Wayne would win 8-10 points or if McCreary won it would be in a barn burner.
