Both Lincoln County and McCreary Central swept their districts going 6-0 and both of their toughest region games left on the schedule is Somerset - at home for McCreary, away for Lincoln.

Don't forget that Lincoln has a tough game tonight at Wayne County. The Patriots still have to go to Mercer County (Feb. 8) and Somerset (Feb. 16), while finishing with a trip to Casey County (Feb. 22). All of those should be wins, but they are all tough places to play. It will be good to see Lincoln get challenged several times going into postseason play - it can only strengthen them.

LC beat Wayne by 39 earlier in the year, seems Wayne is playing better now.

 

Honestly, I did not feel LC played well last night. Their perimeter shooting has been off the last 3-4 games.

McCreary has won their district games by an average over 17 points a game. Yes, I will say they're a lock. By the way, McCreary holds the district tournament and they're 10-1 at home with their only loss coming to Ballou, Washington D.C and have a good shot at being 13-1 at home and 8-0 vs. region opponents at home.

If they're 10-1 at home I believe that means they're also 10-1 on the road as I think they are 20-2 now.

I wonder if Southwestern or Monticello have been notified that they are "locks" to be eliminated in the first round?

Is Wayne County also a lock? They beat Monticello by about 50 and Southwestern by 19.

KYHOOP you appear to be bitter over Lincolns loss to McCreary Central. While I am not a fan of either team, the better team won that night. As for all this lock talk, you guys are obviously very young or you would know alot of things can happen in March and usually does. Boyle, Wayne, Somerset and a few others are well coached and to say any one team is a lock shows your basketball knowledge. Lighten up and enjoy some good hoops coming up.

In their defense the only "lock" mentioned was by SSF that McCreary and Lincoln would make to the regional tournament, not that other schools like the ones you mentioned could not beat Mccreary or Lincoln. I just thought it was something of a stretch to call it a lock when the Raiders just beat Southwestern (whom they may play in the first round of the district) by six last week. Since McCreary beat Lincoln by 9 SSF are they also a lock over the Patriots should they play again.
