12th Region All A Discussion

Featured Replies

While Burgin is off to a nice start this season, Danville's athleticism should be too much for the Bulldogs to overcome.

In the second semifinal, I can't envision a situation where Monticello knocks off Somerset. This Briar Jumpers seem to be playing good ball right now and they always seem to peak during this tournament. Monticello struggled to score early in the season, but have won twice in their last four outings (Powell County & Casey County), averaging 65 points in those games. Still have to pick Somerset.

In the championship, Danville has enough athletes to knock the Jumpers out. Unfortunately, Danville doesn't have enough "basketball players." I suspect Danville will keep it close, but look for Somerset to make yet another trip up to Richmond.

I agree that Monticello is playing some good ball right now. But they have no answer for Bourne.

Danville is to athletic for Burgin.

Somersets run to Richmond will continue one more year as they will win in a barnburner.

Why does Danville and Burgin have to go all the way to Monticello to play their first round game. Wouldn't they have a much better crowd at one of those schools or at Boyle or Mercer Co. if it has to be at a neutral site. If Monticello is hosting the tournamnet then fine, let them play at home every one of their games but it's really dumb in my opinion for everyone to drive over an hour when the school are less than 30 minutes from each other.

Is this the Somerset Invitational? How many times have they won this region?

They've won it 7 times in a row. With Macon transferring to Taylor County, it'll be a big suprise if they don't make it 8.

With Macon gone, Somerset can go ahead and make their reservations.

The bracket says its at Monticello, but that might be wrong. A couple times during previous years, the semifinals would be at two schools (ex: Burgin at Danville and Somerset at Monticello). The final would then be at one of the remaining schools.

I'm not sure if that's happening this year, but its a possibility.

Is this the Somerset Invitational? How many times have they won this region?
