  1. Danville is usually pretty good. Their best player went to Boyle Co this year and is one of the top five players in the region
  2. My prediction is Somersets get production from players who rarely produce or a big shot or two from players you do not expect it from and does just enough to scratch out a win.
  3. Did Lincoln score in the second half from anywhere beyond about 4 feet. I don't remember anything (other than a free throw) that wasn't right under the goal in the second half.
  4. I don't think Garrard belongs anywhere near this list. They've lost 4 of 5 and the only region teams they have beat are Monticello, Burgin and Danville. Here's my top 10 with their record against the Region's top 10 1 Boyle Co 4-3 2 Lincoln Co 7-2 3 West Jessamine 6-3 4 McCreary Co. 5-4 5 Southwestern 6-4 6 Pulaski Co 1-6 7 Somerset 2-4 8 East Jessamine 5-4 9 Mercer Co 1-6 10 Wayne Co 3-4 My rankings are based on who I think would win if they played tonight. Casey Co would be very close if not tied for #10 and they are the only team not listed who I think would have a good chance of beating a team on the list.
  5. The law of supply and demand would indicate that if people are being turned away at Montgomery county then they could raise the price of tickets Montgomery 4408 x $6 =$26,448 Mason 5200 x $5 =$26,000 Money problem solved!
  6. Why not just take all A schools, start in the west and divide them into regions six or seven teams to a region to balance it out. Since district tourney's are not played in All A you don't have to have to KHSAA alignment. As it is some regions have 10 or 11 "A" size schools while some only have 4 or 5.
  7. I can't believe that no one has even mentioned Dixon from Pulaski. He isn't even the best player on his team but he completely changes how you have to play them. Perkins is clearly the man at PC but I think Dixon is the next most important player on the team. There is no way I would mention Ty Perkins before Dixon, I admit Ty has the ability to be a great player but at this point his results shouldn't even get him mentioned in this thread in my opinion.
  8. Isn't the coach of the year voted on before the state tournament. They are introduced during halftime of one of the state tournament games aren't they? Also the voting is done by other coaches in the region isn't it, so if certain coaches aren't liked very much it could cost them a vote or two.
  9. Tough loss for the Jumpers. That would have been a very solid win as Hazard is a good team. At least now Somerset can focus on the rest of the season and getting to the region, which they should. I think the runs they have made in the all A in the past years kind of took the steam out of them down the stretch. Now that they don't have to recover from playing three or four straight days they can build some momentum heading to the postseason.
  10. 1 Boyle 2 W Jess 3 Lincoln 4 McCreary 5 Somerset 6 E Jess 7 Southwestern 8 Pulaski 9 Wayne 10 Mercer
  11. The radio said that South was up 8 with 15 seconds to go. I didn't bother listenng to the end.
  12. have they always had split sessions at the boys region at Mason county?
  13. I can't beleive there are districts that still use the blind draw. Do they still have a guy with a ladder to climb up and get the ball out of the peach basket after each score too? The biggest problem I see this creating is that now one team in the region tournament basically has a first round bye. That would be a pretty good feeling for a district winning coach in the 11th to know that he has a one in three chance to draw Berea or Model in the opening round.
  14. I not positive Hector but I think that they would have used 12th region refs if the game was at Corbin. Woods will not go to the 13th region without the stipulation that they have to use 12th region refs, then he allows 13th region refs to come to Wayne for the return game.
  15. I think Jones may have played for the old Pineknot HS before it closed and they built the new school at McCreary. That was sometime in the 70's. I also think he may have ended up playing at Cumberland for a year.
  16. Regional tourney's are played at Murray St, WKU, one of Frankfort civic center, memorial col. or EKU and also at Morehead. Does anyone know what it cost's for the them to have regional tourney's at those places?
  17. Do they play college basketball at Breathitt Co.? Why the shot clocks?
  18. Pulaski- McCreary has no one to contend with Dixon inside, He had a good game against them last time in only his second or third high school game. Now that he has more confidence and his team has more confidence in him they will go to him a lot against the Raiders.
  19. Yes this is a legit team, their coach is a Monticello native. There have been several teams from Australia to play in Holiday tournaments in the past in Kentucky. There was also North Laurel three or four years ago which was basically a foreign team too.
  20. It's impossible to have "quality wins" over Danville or Monticello. Garrard has seemed to play better as of late but there's no way they are better than Boyle or Pulaski. If you are ranking on how they are playing at this very moment you have to consider who they are playing. Also Southwestern and McCreary are too high, East Jessaime smoked SW, so at theis very moment EJ is most certainly playing better than SW and McCreary lost to 1 win Cumberland Co, Wayne Co and W Jesamine
  21. Anyone know the schedule for the Bryan Station "Defenders of the Station" tounament next week?
  22. 1 Lincoln 2 Somerset 3 Boyle 4 Wayne 5 W Jess 6 McCreary 7 Southwestern 8 Casey 9 Mercer 10 Pulaski 11 E Jess Lincoln I feel is the only team that is a solid pick in their ranking, all of the others are interchangeable with the 2-4 teams listed around them
