McCreary Central 68 Dunbar 60

Final. I know that MC has a decent team, but what has happened to Dunbar?

A good win for the Raiders. I think they are coming on at the right time this year. The last 5 games they are 4-1 with the only loss being to Jtown by 13. They will be tough out in the post season.

Aaron Watts, Jacob Dixon, and Dustin Schrock led McCreary Central with 23, 20, and 13 points respectively. 6-8 Sr. Tyler Rogers led Dunbar with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and six blocked shots. Nick Hudson and Marquis Clay added 16 and 12 points respectively.

Was Dunbar every really that good? I know they won a lot of games, but look at who they beat. In my opinion, the only good win they have was at Tates Creek two weeks ago. Otherwise, their profile is pretty weak.

Knox Central (13-8) - middle of the pack 13th region team

Tates Creek (13-11) - twice; once on opening night; Creekers playing better now

Cumberland County (11-9) - low, Class A 4th region team

Danville (11-11) - mid-level, Class A 12th region team

Shawnee (12-14) - middle/low, Class A 6th region team

Lexington Christian (9-15)

Lafayette (9-17) - twice

Doss (8-16) - middle/low 6th region team

Dunbar also beat three out of state teams that I don't have records for.

I thought Dunbar really had a chance to be special this year but things happen. One player never got eligible, 6-6 Jr. Bryce With and 6-8 Sr. Tyler Rogers had nagging injuries and some of the young players have been up and down. They have played well at times but are in a slump at the wrong time heading into district tournament play.

Knox Central is not a middle of the pack team in the 13th Region. Geez. They've beaten Corbin, lost to South in the final 20 seconds and has beaten and lost to Clay. The Panthers have the talent to win the region. To say they are a middle of the pack team in the 13th Region is absurd.

Congrats to the Raiders, they might very well make a run. they're peaking at tje right time.

Okay, let me rephrase. A "good" Fayette County shouldn't have to count a win over the 4th best team in the 13th Region as one of your best wins. If Knox Central is the best win Dunbar has, then Dunbar doesn't have that many good wins.

Keep in mind, if you replace "Dunbar" with another named school not in Lexington, the Knox Central win would look better. Does that make sense?

Les - are you feeling okay or has someone stolen your password? I've never seen you give the Raiders any credit whatsoever :)

You've got to give credit where credit deserved and right now, the Raiders deserve the credit. Like I said before, it looks like they're peaking at the right time and maybe Raider Rob Jones will get that elusive trip to Rupp.

I think Dixon is the key to the Raiders postseason. Watts is every bit as good as advertised and Roark is a very nice player. However, when Dixon is scoring they are very dangerous. I talked to an AD who had talked to "Raider Rob" and he said that Jones had said that the team didn't need a coach but instead needed a psychiatrist and the players didn't like each other. They seem to be getting it together and like I said I think if Dixon becomes a major part of their offense they'll be hard to beat. If Watts tries to take it all on his shoulders they'll make another exit. Watts is extraordinary but he needs to recognize the other good players on his team. Good luck Raiders, I'd like to see you make your first Sweet 16 trip in 26 years.

Hey! Hey! Hay! Look at those no Talent Raiders. Looks like the Raiders have plenty of Talent. Go Raiders. Anytime a out in the State team beats a Lexington Team it is big news.

Great win for the Raiders. The 12th Region tournament is going to be a great one to watch.

Excellent post. I have no trouble with people bashing when it's warranted as long as they give credit when its warranted. Raiders have it rolling pretty good heading into next week. If they can get through that opening round district game I wouldn't want to meet them in the region. Roll on Raiders!

McCreary Central is rolling right now. It should be a good one at the Trojan Palace next Thursday Night against Southwestern.

How right you are, the winner of this game could very well be the Regional Winner. Good Luck Raiders!:dancingpa
