So as to not have the rumor mill churning, Dakotah Euton is leaving Rose Hill Christian School.

The rumor is not false. Not only is it true, I just got off of the phone with Dakotah's father. I wanted to make sure that it was okay with him that I post this. Dakotah is in fact leaving Rose Hill. His father's place of employment has officially closed. He is leaving not because of any ill will towards the school. This is not a basketball decision. It is an economic one. Although his circumstance is obviously different considering his child is 6'8" and a U.K. commitment. I doubt many, if any, of us will ever be in his shoes. I don't know where he's going, but I can't imagine his son's college future in basketball not having some bearing in the decision. And although they haven't gone anywhere yet, I'd like to say that I appreciate all that Mr. and Mrs. Euton have done for Rose Hill and the community. Not many will know how deeply their commitment and effort will be missed. I appreciate all Mr. Euton has done for my children personally and his whole family will be greatly missed, especially by my family. Not often will you find a kid the caliber of basketball player as Dakotah take the time to talk and shoot with kids in the 3rd grade. He is a role model for those kids in many ways far more important than basketball. No one will root harder for the Euton's than those folks here at Rose Hill,,,no matter where they end up.thumb[1.gif]

I posted this because it is first hand. It is not rumor. I'm sure some have already formed their opinions and that's fine. Opinions really don't matter that much, especially when shone up against truth.

I wonder if Mr. Euton will include this on the resume he sends out to potential employers? Let the bidding begin.

Very well said, I also would like to wish the Euton's the best of luck wherever their journey make take them. I hope that they settle down somewhere that will push Dakota to the next level. Being looked at by Kentucky means a lot in itself. However, I feel Dakota needs to play somewhere that will push him to his limits every time he steps on the floor. Although he will be missed in the 16th, I feel this may help him in the long run. So from all of us in the 16th region we say, "GOOD-LUCK"!:thumb:

Dakotah is a great ball player and should do well no matter what school he attends next year. I wish him nothing but the best.

Any word on what school he will be attending next season or if Jackson will be following ?

I'm sure this will make a lot of the 16th region fans happy for a lot of unjustified reasons but lets all keep in mind that many other schools in our area have had their share of transfers also. It's not just Rose Hill.

I'm glad I got the chance to see a future Wildcat play in high school.I never came away dissapointed. I was looking forward to seeing him play more next year. It will be nice to see how he does against some tougher competition though.

Good Luck to Dakota, So does one or both of Jacksons parents work with Mr. Euton?

I have heard Lexington Christian, Lexington Catholic, or Scott Co. What I have also heard is that Chad Jackson will be coming with him also. The most recent rumor (Key word rumor) is that Kyle Macy will become head coach at LCA and that they will both attend. It makes some sense because I am pretty sure his daughter goes there. This is just a rumor so don't bash me if I am totally off.

I don't think there is any bidding involved. Mr Euton's place of employment is closing and I understand Dakota eats a lot. Mr Euton already has a job in Lexington and I'm sure the Euton's are perfectly capable of finding the best school for Dakota without any "bidding" inuendo's. Dakota already has a scholarship, so the next two years should just be preparing him for college.

Euton and Jackson will be missed in the 16th but they are leaving for perfectly understandable reasons. They represented Rose Hill well and I know everyone at Rose Hill wishes them nothing but the best.

They were fun to watch for the last few years.

Hopefully they will end up somewhere and get another shot at those Elliot County boys again:thumb:
