  1. All I said in my original post was he forced a lot of shots, if that is downing his play, sorry. JMO
  2. Your stats prove my point. Ethan, more rebounds, more assists, over half the points with less than half the shots. Evan's numbers pretty much equal in points and assists, 7 less shots for 8 ppg less avg.
  3. Yes, it is about the one or two best players per team. How silly of me to rebut another post with my opinion of the best players on a certain Sweet 16 team. I guess I miss-understood, I thought this thread was about people stating their opinions on who were the best players on Sweet 16 teams and why.
  4. And that's my point.........You said it yourself. Several, supposed "lesser" players outplayed him on several occassions. Not my words, yours!
  5. If you would like, I will give you Mr. Faulkners phone number and you are more than welcome to call him. I'm sure he, or his father would be glad to enlighten you. I can tell you that Gardener-Webb, and a couple of Ivy League schools have. Are they as big name as UK? No. Does that change the fact that he more than held his own against a bigger, taller UK recruit?
  6. I can understand the kids being upset about not winning the region tourney, I also understand it was a school night. It is however, in my eyes, a slight to the people putting on the tournament.
  7. Well, first I was rebutting another post..However, if you would like me to make a point, I guess it would be that he needs to hit the weights and work on his game. As for offers...........Yes, Faulkner has some. Committed, no.:thumb:
  8. You could be right. I suppose everyone will know in a few days:thumb: However, they tell me I'm doing much better............Even talking about cutting back on my meds!:scared:
  9. And apparently someone else didn't see the first game, when a 6' 1" Evan Faulkner, in the 2nd half pushed Mr. Euton around like he was on skates, kept him out of the paint, and pretty much made him a non-factor in the second half. By himself, no doubles, no triples, one on one.:thumb:
  10. Your saying that everyone on the team forces as many shots as Ferguson?? Yes the rest of the players force some shots........All players do. However, Ferguson FORCES as many individually as the other kids on the team take in the offense. As for if the twins shooting it 17 times a game and averaging 30, yeah, they would. And on top of that they would have better assist to turnover margin (while being the primary ball handlers), more rebounds, and don't flop after every three they shoot!
  11. Fire up that RH van, I know gas is high. But we need ballplayers..........Fast, before everyone else goes back to their local schools!
  12. Yes, they will, never said the better team would lose! I just think it's much closer than the last meeting.
  13. Possibly, I,ve always heard that the Jackson's hailed from Ironton???????
  14. LOL. Well... First, you cough up the un-confirmed Jackson leaving. And yes, I read the Ashland paper, no news of any lay-offs from local employers. As for Elliott, maybe they just want to go somewhere that is public, plus be on a good team. They would not have got past Elliott next year either!
  15. Well, thats not really what I was getting at. But, since you responded, I would take T. Knipp over Miller in a freshman year match-up, anytime. My thoughts on the game. I don't see Middleton having another career night, I see nerves getting to Setty............I see Elliott dropping long balls. I see a much closer than expected Mason win... If the refs don't get caught up in Billy G. fever, and Miller is off I could easily see EC winning this game.
  16. The studs from Elliott are the Faulkners....Ferguson is a fine player, but he forces a lot of shots. Give either Faulkner his number of shots, they out average him by 5 to 6 a game. Plus both already out rebound and out assist him.
  17. I'll admit, I haven't seen all the pg's in the 16 play. But....I can't imagine more than 2, tops that have the ability, and more importantly will, to lead a team and play the game the way that Ethan does. He gets overshadowed by Ferguson, another fine player on their team. Bottom line is. If this kid was 6' 4" every college in the country would be on his doorstep!
  18. Best of luck to the Euton's wherever this may take them. A high school basketball team, perhaps one with a prominent local employer, will get a very good student, player, and citizen, from this venture.
  19. The rumor I heard was It was a package deal. They took the players to get to what they really coveted............. The bench daddies!
  20. It would appear that after all the crying and complaining. That somehow, someway, their is other schools with other willing participants capable of organizing a region tournament. Will wonders ever cease?
  21. It was good to see Maynard stroking that long ball tonight. Made me think about the Ashland game last year. A great kid who's shooting and ability to stretch the defense will be missed next year.
  22. Fantastic defensive efforts tonight by both teams. The jobs done by Et. Faulkner on Johnson and T Knipp on Barnhill in the first half was outstanding!
