Don't get me wrong GO. Baker's teams are always hard nosed, defensive minded teams that are very much teams, they play together and will always compete. I'm just not as sold on him being the best coach in the region as you are.

When did Billy G. come to the Hook? As for the kid that went to Madness, potential he has in spades, but I would take Barnhill over him in a second. As for D1 players.... Maybe the best coach in the Region isn't developing his players

So your saying Baker doesn't have any talent? If we are talking about coaches most capable to cry a river to officials, then yeah Baker is the man! There is nothing he does or is that seperates him from the other coaches in the region, IMO.

Some people on here, (and I don't mean you or anyone specific) that haven't followed EC before but do now because they have a good team have found out what the knowledgeable EC fans have always known! And I'm not bashing the man, for years he done a job that nobody wanted. And I'm sure he has always coached the best that he knew how, doesn't change the fact...

At least you don't show any home town bias;)

Congrats to Mason! In spite of the deep water from all the Mason fans tears over the change in venue for the region, these kids rolled up their britchy legs and took care of business!

I've heard that they have raised flood level down the Ohio since announcing the region would be held at Montgomery, they's been some crying....... Apparently the 39th is at Mason, otherwise, New Orleans would be back at square one!!!!!!

I don't think anyone has compared him to the current Lofton, all comparisons I have seen were from when Lofton was in High School. At which time high level D1 schools were not exactly knocking his door down.

That may very well be true. However, (and I'm not taking up for him because I have less than a good opinion of him or his coaching), I believe that he has always done the best he knows how. Is that right in manys eyes? Probably not. But, as an Elliott fan who is not a supporter of his I honestly believe (right or wrong) that he has never tried to humilate anyone, and has coached to the best of his abilities. Does he play his starters to much? Absolutely! Has he always done that? Absolutely! Was it an issue until he had talent that give the beatings that they usually recieved?

I'd say your right, muskateer alum. It don't get any worse than when the 16th's "old money" quit playing a certain team. A team that I might add EC played, took their lumps and then didn't come running to BGP and cry about scores being ran up.

Must be that the coach you speak of is a newbie, otherwise they would have had endless opps. to pound on Elliott. And again, don't blame the kids or the fans for the trangressions of one.

Was there this much crying by everyone when Mason held it?? Give someone else a shot for crying out loud. Might just be that fans from other teams, players for other schools, and parents of other kids might like to have the tourny in their backyard!

Elliott has taken more than their fair share of beatings in the past. When these kids graduate, it will be more of the same. As for teams gunning for them, they are doing that now... It's more the fans of other teams holding the kids at EC liable for their coaches short comings... Hardest working kids you will ever meet, also some of the most polite and respectful young men I have had the pleasure to be around. Just because one man does things others don't agree with, doesn't mean people in the know (area coaches) will exact revenge over a few years with some excellent ball players.

For what it's worth I came across it from one of Elliott's players. He was listed as a friend on one of Elliott's players. And no, everyone on EC is age appropriate.

I agree with FBall. East has the size to match up with RH. Also, are physical enough that RH won't make a living on second chance points. After watching Evan Faulker push Euton around like he was on skates in the 2nd half of the Elliott game, I just don't see RH beating East. JMO
