  1. If there is such a thing as a nice loss this game may be for the HC freshmen. Showing that they can compete with arguably the best team in NKY speaks well of their development. In the 4th to play against CovCath as they dial up the defense/contact changes the game if the officials don't get involved and if they do CovCath is deap.
  2. Spin it however you want. Without organized sports most kids would not get any exercise at all. An average football play lasts about 10 seconds from snap to whistle. An average game may have 60 offensive or defensive plays. That's 120 if you play both ways x10 seconds = 1200 seconds or 20 minutes over a 2 1/2 hour game once a week. If your team is fortunate enough to play 15 games that comes out to a grand total of 5 hours of playing in a 4 1/2 month season if you play both ways every play. Of course there's the hours and hours of practice. All that exercise when they could be home playing Xbox 1.
  3. I'm a Campbell County fan and a huge Matt Wilson fan and think that he probably draws double teamed on shots and rebounds. So if the other teams are getting runout baskets and we're not getting rebounds or playing close enough defense to draw an occasional foul where are our players?
  4. What do stats say? Camels shot 70%. Only 18 rebounds. 18 boards in Covcath and Holy Cross games also. HC shot 6 free throws and CovCath shot only 5. Maybe the Camels should be more interested where the ball is.
  5. Can you post the teams and schedule for the XMas tournament? If Walton plays all their freshmen I don't think there is a better team in NKY
  6. Campbell played a good game but not near their potential. IMO they are still finding their stride.
  7. From ObeyWonkaLawrency move on no trouble here Cards
  8. I don't think the drive is the problem here as much as the schedule. The KHSAA threw Kentucky High School Football under the bus this year and who is to say it won't happen next year? They had plenty of time to make other plans, and whose ever fault it is should loose their job. Friday and Saturday Ky state champions are a tradition. If I'm a Mountain fan and want to see my three teams play what are my options? Pikeville & Beechwood play tonight. Being a NKY fan I might have liked to go to that game, but NCC don't play till 3 days later. It's not the distance as much as the schedule to me. Or the size of the stadium as long as the attendance on the field is 22.
  9. Campbell County plays Pendleton tomorrow at CC then next week NCC Monday, Holy cross Wednesday, and Ryle Friday. Same team as last year (8th grade) minus two bigs , plus three small guards.
  10. FWIW I don't think I saw many of these players on 14u aau teams last seuason
  11. Birds- blocked punt for to Trent Johnson blocked and caught and returned for to Camels- two passes to Gavin tearhar
  12. The Camels will have to contain the Birds passing attach . Cramer is probably the best passing Freshman QB in NKY and have a great running game also. The defense for the Birds gave up only 7 to a good Ryle team and that was on the subs. If the Camels can control their turnovers and run enough trick plays they may have a chance.
  13. Just another game unless you are envolved with these two teams. A lot of these kids have been playing sports with and against each other since they started playing. To end their Freshmen season with this game is pretty cool, even if it were for last place. I'll be rooting for every kid on the field and though I'd like the Camels to win I'm just happy to have the game
  14. Wow again subbing freely only up 41! Way to go Birds. Camels beat Cooper 41-14 started subbing up 14. Are we on for the rematch? Don't know if we can stop Air Blue
  15. I don't think that will keep him from finishing his freshman season playing freshman ball.
  16. Campbell 34 Dixie 16 Camels play Cooper tonight at 6 at CC. Also tonight Highlands vs Ryle.
  17. The last week 10/29+ or - . Campbell is trying to play Highlands again I think. I also think Highlands has Dixie scheduled then. Could open up Campbell to play
  18. Dam right! From a fellow lineman take what ever you can get no matter when you can get it.
  19. Another concept that puzzles me is that if a substitute player doesn't block, tackle, catch , or run the ball well in practice how does playing in a game "develop" the player??
  20. Freshman and JV are two separate issues IMO. Not including weight and other year round training all these kids have started by mid July. Some work harder than others to EARN a starting position or even a chance to be a second. Pulling a starter out for a kid that has done nothing more than jumping-jacks all year is an injustice to the player that has worked hard to earn the right to play.
  21. Maybe Im just one of those rare people that cares who won and who lost a game or a season. I still remember my freshman year at Bellevue in 1966. Highlands spoiled our perfect season the last game of the year. Beechwood appears to be the best of NKY this year. Congratulations. Maybe they develop their players at practice instead of in a game and coach that winning is better than losing.
  22. I would have to give the top spot to Beechwood. With Aiden Camp back Conner will be a much improved team. Haven't seen Cooper play yet but they play better by the end of the year. SK and Boone are more in the developing mode with SK needing experience and Boone needing more players.IMO
  23. A lot of ifs, but maybe
