Carter Baughman of Mercer County is someone I think is capable of being on this list. He can play.

You would not have seen any of them on 14u Aau team. 2019 class are freshman and would be 15u.

2019 will play 15u this upcoming year. Would've been 14u last summer.

For many, and probably even most of the kids on this list, they were not eligible to play 14U last year, although they will be eligible to play 9th grade (which is effectively 16U) this year, the one exception on the list that I am personally aware of being Dontaie Allen, who just turned 15. I do not know the birthdates of all of the kids on this list, but those that I do know all will turn 16 before August 1st, making them ineligible to play 15 U but eligible for 9th grade. It is the same age/grade issue that has been the subject of many, many debates on here, but that is part of the reason there aren't any 9th region names on here, because of the best 20 or so 9th region freshmen, only a couple are "older".

Every kid on that list can play 15u this coming year in Aau. That rule u are thinking about is just for 14u 8th grade on down. When u get to high school grades it's still regular old Aau rules. Play ur grade basically

The rule for 15u 9th grade this year is if your in the 9th grade and no older than 16 as of August 31st 2016 u can play 15u Same as always. What happens with the way they changed the 14u on down is basically a hold back kid when he reaches 15u he plays 15u twice

I don't think I disagree at all, I will just call it semantics, or perhaps even ignorance on my part. What you are saying, and with which I agree, is that a kid who turned 16 on September 2, 2015, would be eligible to play ninth grade AAU basketball. If that is called 15U, then I agree, it creates the strange situation of having a kid that turns 17 in September eligible to play 15U during the summer before she turns 17. I say it is semantics, because I always assumed 15U meant "under 15" and you believe, and this may be the case, that 16-year-olds that are going to be 17 within a couple of months, are eligible to play U15. Is that a fair reading?

Yes but it ain't that I believe. It's just the rules. Crazy sounding I know but it is what it is. Danny butt and Steven Fitzgerald are good examples. They were both in 9th grade last year and 16. They both played 15u this past summer and both turned 17 in sept
