Walton-Verona 51 Holy Cross 35 (Frosh)

Featured Replies

Walton hits 5 of 6 3's in first quarter, opened up 14 point lead. Holy Cross cut it to 4, but Walton hits 18 of 22 free throws to preserve the win. News flash... They can shoot. Add to the shooters the 6'7" athletic Miles, and you have a pretty good team. Both teams are playing in the Holy Cross Christmas tournament, so there is a chance they could face each other again in a couple of weeks.

16 pt win is preserving it pretty well.

WV has a very good class and the addition of Bromwell makes them even better.

Bromwell doesn't start and didn't play that much, didn't score much if at all. Miles makes a big difference, especially defensively (6'9" wing span I am told).

Is Miles the boy that was at Woodland Middle last year... and at Walton the year before that?

Also, same Bromwell that was at Gray last year?

Yes to both ..... Except Miles has grown .... Defensively he can change a game. I think he blocked 3-4 Ty Houston shots, and you won't find another freshman in northern Kentucky that could pull that off. The kid has physical gifts that can't be taught. If he works hard and learns to play in the post lookout.

Can you post the teams and schedule for the XMas tournament?

If Walton plays all their freshmen I don't think there is a better team in NKY

You are looking at it dyslexically (?) ... the championship side is to the right ... winners of the first round games go right, losers go left. So NCC does, in fact, get to the final four with one win, but in the upper bracket its St. Henry v. Dixie that gets to the final four with one win.

Miles was planning on attending Holy Cross from what I hear. Even showed up to the entrance exam they have.
