  1. Notice the luxury suits in the picture. You don't find those in many High School stadiums. What you don't see in this picture is the Marshall Training center located behind the stadium. It puts alot of college facilities to shame.
  2. Sounds like it was a battle. T's defense is very young but tough. They will be extremely challenged against the Ohio teams, but will be ready when it counts. Go Rocks!
  3. Terry was a funny guy and gave his heart and sole to the kids but it was time for a change.
  4. I enjoyed the trip to Bowling Green even if it made for a long drive home after a loss. Regarding basketball, even with a new arena in Louisville, I think Lexington should keep the basketball tournament. As it has been pointed out many times, this state is more Blue than Red and having the opportunity to play in Rupp is a lifetime opportunity for the majority of kids growing up in the Commonwealth. This coming from a Big UL fan.
  5. Craig Swaback is a huge improvement on the Defensive side of the ball. I wish we would have had him last season.
  6. The kid was a stud as a freshman and got some valuable practice time with the Varsity during the playoffs last year. There's some sour grapes from some of our public school friends who say we stole him from JCPS. Another kid that see's the school as an opportunity to better his life. Just my opinion.
  7. A more cohesive team, based on what? They will be starting the youngest team in the past 10 years. We wish them the best but know it could be even tougher than last year.
  8. Last years team was no different in commitment and pride from the senior class than from years past. They played the toughest schedule in the schools history and just because they lost to St.X in the state final, you tag them as less committed!!! Give me a break. As far as pride, everyone of those kids had pride in Trinity High School. This statement comes from a parent whose son just completed busting his butt for the program the past four years.
  9. Based on returning Senior talent and depth, I would have to say St.X is the leader at the start of the season. However this could be the year Ballard makes a serious move. I just think this year is more wide open in 6A for the first time in several years.
  10. Absolutely, but they do play the Cincy teams at home. The biggest concern is that although talented, this team will be even younger than last years team in most all positions. I think 2011 will be their best chance to hit 20.
  11. Although a very talented group of incoming Sophomores and Juniors, they are still very young and lack experience on the Varsity level. This team also lacks a Senior class with only a handful of Seniors that have any experience. Like last year, QB is going to be the biggest issue. On defense they only have two or three starters returning and their entire D-Line will be made up of Sophomores and Juniors. I think they are one year away.
  12. Trinity's entire Dline was all seniors last year backed up by sophomores and even a freshman at the end of the year. Most of these kids only got spot action at the end of the game but did play a full JV schedule. They have talent but still very young strength wise. That's my concern.
  13. This will be the youngest team the Rocks have fielded in a long time. With Kragthorpe gone, they are going to have to develop a young QB real quick. Dline is a major concern and will be all Juniors starting their first Varsity game.
  14. rockmom, We will be even younger next year than we were in 2009 which was actually a Senior dominated squad with a couple Juniors, sophomores and one exceptional freshman sprinkled in. The majority of both sides of the ball will be Juniors getting their first significant varsity playing time. Sure we played two sophomores and a junior part time on the OL and have Bishop and Nix returning, but who's the QB? At the end of the season, we had a true Freshman running second string. With Kragthorpe gone, QB will be a challenge once again next year. On Defense, they will be replacing their entire DLine and key back ups as well. They have 3-4 kids that started as Juniors and Sophomores returning at end, linebacker and one safety. outside of that very few underclassmen played significant minutes until the end of games or on JV or Freshman games and the Senior class is very small as well. The Rocks are going to have to grow up quickly to handle another early demanding schedule. As for 2011/2012, they should be unstoppable.
  15. Regardless of what most in this state and on message boards think about private schools particularly private schools in Jefferson County, let's hope the coaches in this state do the right thing and acknowledge Josh Sewel as Mr. Basketball. :ylsuper:
  16. Two from Trinity signed to play college football. Dylan Kupper OT signed with Eastern and Jessie Schmitt a long snapper signed with Purdue. Neither X or T have many kids year to year sign to play at the next level.
  17. Coach J, You completely get it. I met you at one of the Trinity playoff games this past season and told you how much I admired what you are trying to do at Ballard.
  18. Thanks Jim and Tony, I get a four year break to just be a fan as my youngest will be going into 5th grade next year in a CSAA powerhouse. I told Coach Beatty and Maddox at the end of the season they need to hold on until my youngest gets there. They both laughed and said they didn't know if that would happen but you never know.
  19. As a Trinity alumni and a parent of a son who played his final season as a Rock this past year I want to share my thoughts. First and foremost, the vast majority of kids on both Trinity and St.X's rosters come from Louisville Catholic grade schools. Yes there are some kids that come from public schools as well however, their parents, and I am speaking about the parents of kids from my son's class, have paid the price to give their son's the opportunity to experience everything these schools have to offer their kids over the past four years. It's more than football believe it or not. Both staff's are extremely dedicated to the kids and to molding these teenagers into responsible young men. From mid January through the first week of December, the hours they put into their programs are exhausting and they do this because of the love of the game and the school and not for some large paycheck which does not exist. The kids, understand the tradition they inherit and take on the challenge head on. My son was in the weight room 6 days a week from January through May. From the first week of June until they started practice in mid July, he had to be at the school from 8:00 - 10:00 daily for conditioning and weight training. This was a four year job for my son and taught him valuable lessons that will carry him forward in life. Yes we had numbers as we always do and we had talent, but it was St.X's year plain and simple. They proved it in both games because they had both pieces, excellent coaches and talent. I hated the loss for my son, but he will graduate with an excellent GPA, alot of memories and friendships that will last him an entire lifetime. For that, I am grateful for what Trinity has done for my son.
  20. It's fun being a Basketball School! At least for one year.
  21. Shake up on the Rocks staff with Craig Swabek replacing Terry Bean as Defensive coordinator will make things interesting for the young Rocks in 2010.
  22. Not sure about St. X's line but they have a much larger Senior class that played major minutes this past year. Trinity has excellent skilled position players returning but their lines are going to be very very young. They started two Sophomores on the oline this year and had one part time junior starter. That's positive but still very young. On the Dline, they have no starters returning. They will be playing Juniors and Sophomores that only have Freshman and JV ball experience. Again, they have talent, but it will be interesting to see if they can step up and compete with another tough out of state schedule, although those are home games this year, plus St. X. Go Rocks!
  23. St.X returns a deeper Senior class and the Rocks will be even younger next year than they were this year starting 15-17 Juniors. Plus with Kragthorpe gone, his back up at the end of this season was a Freshman. They have alot of young talent and by 2011 & 2012 they will be back.
  24. I don't think you will see Miles at UK at least not as a scholarship player. They already have 24 commitments.
  25. Not bad for a Football School! Go Basketball Rocks!
